I wonder if someone here can help me with a bit of terminology?
I am trying to find games that can be played over the internet where two or
more human players each play at different computers, typically situated in
different cities. I had assumed that those were called online games but that
terminology doesn't seem to be accurate.
For example, I'd like to find a game of Chinese Checkers that I can play
with my mother on the computer. She lives in a different city so we'd like
to play on our respective computers. I searched on "chinese checkers online"
but all the links I've followed so far gave me games where the computer user
was playing the computer or was playing multiple opponents at the SAME
computer and simply passing the mouse back and forth between players to let
them each have their turns. That isn't what I want.
I assume there is some kind of terminology I can use in a Google search to
return only games where the two human players are at DIFFERENT computers
connected only via the Internet (as opposed to a two computers in the same
house or office that are connected by a LAN.)
Can someone help me out by telling me this terminology?
