I never heard of using smilies to show someone is a "good guy". Nobody
would fall for that stupid idea. Smilies are to show someone is
smiling. It could be with you or at you, or just to indicate something
is a joke to people who are too stupid (or didn't know English well) to
get it. You should know this because he said those were his reasons.
You would qualify on all counts. LOL
I use LOLs because they are easier than smilies, and because I'm really
