Solomon's Private File #344
These stories about Stephen and Solomon take place starting in
1950's. Stephen wrote about his life in letters to a penpal, and then
in a secure blog, in case he lost his memory again, in the master
computer in his school for gifted students, which he started attending
in 2016 in a new incarnation, until his death. Now his son Solomon is
attending the same school, and is writing in his own secure blog for
his future incarnations.
All characters are fictitious, even if some of them might have names
that belong to some actual people, or act like people we know.
Solomon is 31 in this story, in the Spring of 2057.

They did it. I was proclaimed a Special Guru of the Sikh. It didn't
draw much comment. I wasn't unhappy about that part.
I shifted to be with a skydiver in mid air. I stopped time for us,
and said that. He said, "Thank you!" I said, "You DO know that jumping
out of a perfectly good airplane isn't the safest thing to do?" He
said, "I do." I said, "Why annoy fate unnecessarily?" He laughed, and
said, "It's fun!" I said, "That's not what I would call hitting the
ground at terminal velocity." He said, "It doesn't happen all the
time." I said, "True. But when you add an angry business partner to the
somebody who can take such useful advantage of this so convenient
opportunity to take over your company, and your wife?" He had a lot of
strong mixed emotions. I said, "Right. Skydiving isn't the only foolish
thing you've done. You neglected your family and your business you
built up from nothing, all so you can die this way." He had some more
feelings about that.
I said, "Know about the parents not being saved in train track
crashes?" He said, "Oh. Do you mean it would be better for everybody if
I died?" I said, "As it is now, yes, actually. Am I wrong?" He sighed,
to do it all over, would you, COULD you do it differently?" He said, "I
think I could. I hope I could." I said, "You've got life insurance." He
said, "So my family will be provided for." I said, "Not exactly.
Doesn't cover skydiving." He said, "Oh!" I said, "So, what shall we do
now?"
He said, "I ask for a chance to make things right." I said, "That's a
wish, not a procedure. If I don't do something, you're going to, ah,
splat. And then there is an attempted murder. No, your wife wasn't part
of that. So, tell me some specifics. No, don't ask me what I can do.
That's anything my ethics allows, but I can't reverse time. I think.
Better not experiment with that right now." He had to grin, and said,
"I understand. I request that I be physically saved in a way that the
sabotage isn't known. Let him think it didn't work, and I didn't know
about it, but you tell him YOU know." I said, "Oh, that's twisted. You
know I have to like that." He laughed. He said, "You'll have evidence,
including real time recordings. You can use that if he ever goes bad
again. I promise to never do this again, and I'll try my best to right
my wrongs." I said, "It won't be easy. Requires acting, in not telling
them about this. And they'll resist you. They would have to change who
they are, as much as you will, to accept the new you. But there's a
problem. How can they believe you changed, when they can't know the
cause of it?" He said, "What can we do about that?"
I said, "You might not have the courage for this." He said, "I
understand. A hard landing and an injury. It's tough. I think I have to
do it. I agree." I said, "Talk about tough! Do you know how difficult
it will be for me to manage that, without actually causing the
recoverable injury myself?" He said, "But you will. I know it." I said,
"Just for that, I should make it both legs." He just grinned. I said,
"I suggest you don't tell people about this." He said, "I agree! Thank
you!" I said, "Well, you might not feel that nicely about it for a few
days." Grins. I said, "Ready?" He said, "I am! Er, I'm not going to say
the usual skydiver's er, thing." I said, "Considerate of you. Geronimo
would approve. Except for flying without feathers. Down you go!"
He dropped like a stone, and then at the last minute his reserve
chute partially opened. He broke his right ankle on the hard landing.
His family and business partner were there at the hospital with him,
when he said, "I'm never going to skydive again! I'm afraid. Not of
dying, but of dying before I can make myself a better man, husband,
father, and business partner. This woke me up. I've been a fool. I'm
going to change that!"
I was in his partner's office when he got back to it. I said, "Oh my,
do you look funny! Have a seat. We need to talk." He did that, looking
very unhappy. I said, "I know what you did, and why. All of it, and
it's recorded. He would have died, if I hadn't helped a little. Should
I tell him?" He said, "If I ask you not to?" I said, "If you can
convince me. There is also the matter of the actual crime. Attempted
murder is kind of a felony, you know." He said, "I was wrong. I know
that. I won't do it again!" I said, "Well, you couldn't. He's not going
back up." He said, "Oh. Yes, that. He said he wants to change. I'll
help him do it." I said, "Does that involve screwing his wife?"
He looked very embarrassed and nervous, and said, "That's finished!"
I said, "Best you tell her that, before she is conflicted in telling
YOU that." He said, "Oh. Thanks." I said, "I'm not asking you to tell
anybody what happened. And I don't plan to, either, if you do your best
to be a good person. Why, is because this is a delicate situation for
HIM, and his future, and the future of his children. In support of
that, you're getting off easy. For now. Remember, I can always go to
the police if that would improve things. You had better not do anything
that will cause that to happen. Got a consequence waiting, too. So, do
we have an agreement?" He said, "We do!" I said, "You know I'll be
watching. Actually, I can't avoid that. For both of you, this is the
first day of the rest of your new lives. Do it well." I stood and
shifted out.
Daren said, "I didn't expect THAT!" George said, "Wow!" I said,
"Remember, we work for the future. This way causes a better outcome,
than any other solution. We're not the police. We improve people. If
that works better without legal action, then we do it that way.
Remember, I didn't go to the police about that terrorism conspiracy
against the Sikhs." Daren said, "Almost converted them!" Grins.
A little girl was in her back yard, alone and crying, hugging a teddy
bear. Another girl said behind her, "Why are you crying?" The crying
girl stopped crying, and said, "Mommy won't let me have a puppy! All my
friends have them, and I don't." The visiting girl said, "I'm Dani. For
today, anyway. If your friends didn't have puppies, then you wouldn't
want one?" She thought it over, and said, "Yes." Dani said, "Is it nice
to the puppy to want it because others have them, and not for itself?
Puppies are like little children, and need to be loved for who they
are, and cared for very carefully." She said, "Oh! And Mommy doesn't
like dogs. He would be sad about that. But why doesn't she like them?"
Dani said, "When she was a little girl, a little older than you are
now, a dog was sick and bit her best friend, who was with her. Ever
since then, she's been very afraid of dogs. Asking for one, like you
did, made her afraid. And because people don't really like to be
afraid, she was angry, too. No, she can't help it."
She said, "I didn't know that. I made her feel bad. I didn't mean
to!" Dani hugged her with love. She was very surprised, and said, "You
love me just like the time my hurt was made better! Did you do that,
too?" Dani said, "No, my Aunt does those love and healing broadcasts."
She said, "You're so smart. How did you know about my mommy?" Dani
said, "My father is Solomon. He knows everything. He told me, and asked
me to come here and help you with this." She said, "Oh! I know about
him! He's like God." Dani said, "Yes, that's true. And he's very nice,
too. A great father. He really loves kids. All kids. That's why he sent
me here to help you. This is my first time to do this, and and I like
it!" They grinned, and hugged. Dani said, "Dani isn't my real name, and
I don't look like this at home. Next time I help somebody, I might have
a different name. Kind of fun, actually." More grins. Dani said, "I
think you shouldn't tell your friends about this. They won't believe
you, and might be mean do you for that." She nodded, and said, "I'll
remember. Thank you. Can I tell Mommy?" Dani said, "That's up to you,
but she might not believe you, too. And it wouldn't be nice to say
anything about dogs to her." She said, "I understand. I'll be extra
nice." Another hug, and Dani said, "Goodbye." She vanished.
I said to Dawn, "Your generation is the first to grow up in the
Corps. We don't know how that will make you different from my
generation, but it sure isn't going to be bad!" Kisses and hugs. It's
becoming noticed, kids in the Corps. I was asked to do a show about it.
Mary introduced me on the CNN show, and said, "We've been hearing
reports of children being in the Corps. Is that true?" I said, "Yes,
it's true. Some of our children are working in the Corps." She said,
"Isn't that dangerous for them?" I said, "No, it's not dangerous. For
the kids. For their parents, who get violently hugged and kissed for
allowing it, maybe." Chuckles. She said, "Are they trained to handle
it, as much as the adults?" I said, "They aren't trained as well, yet.
They's why they're only used in certain specific actions where other
children can relate to them better than to adults, and are carefully
supervised. I did that as a child, so I know how useful that is. But,
there is a little something extra about this, and has been from the
start. They're all using disguises. What they look like, might not be
anywhere near their real age, or gender."
She said, "Oh! I didn't think of that!" I just grinned. She said,
"There have been reports that your daughter is one of them." I said,
"The reports aren't reporting as accurately as they could. Yes, one of
my children is in the Corps, and who has said that I'm the father, but
that person, being in disguise, hasn't indicated being a son or
daughter of me." She said, "In appearance, a girl, but different each
time." I smiled, and said, "That you know of." She said, "Yes, that we
know of. Different names, too." I said, "We like creativity. While
their disguises need approval, we don't usually have any problems with
them. Unlike what I wanted to do at that age, which my mother shot
down." She laughed, and we went to break. We shared grins.
Back from break, she said, "With your usual identity guarding in the
Corps, why is she telling people you're her father?" I said, "Little
children don't understand what the Corps is, but they DO understand
very well what a parent is, and most have heard of me. And the Corps
member hugs the child, with love. They recognize that from the
broadcasts, and so are more trusting. And you know about pride." She
grinned, and said, "Absolutely! What child wouldn't be very proud to
have you as a father?" I said, "Well, I hope we don't have to answer
that one." Chuckles.
She said, "You've been awarded the status of Special Guru in Sikhism.
How did that happen?" I said, "I meet all kinds of people, in different
countries, cultures, and religions. Some want to honor me, and I can't
stop them nicely. But the religions know not to do anything falsely
with me. So, yes, I do qualify for that. They made it Special, because
I belong to other religions, too, and that's not allowed in Sikhism.
It's an interesting religion, and very much so with how it and why it
started. I recommend that people who are interested in learning about
religions, look at Sikism. And another one. The Society of Friends,
also called the Quakers. A Christian Denomination worth learning
about."
I said, "Did you know there is a religion native to Iran, other than
Islam?" She said, "No, I didn't know that." I said, "It's called Bahai.
Also worth looking at." She said, "Why should we look at other
religions?" I said, "Religions people belong to, show others something
of who those people think they are and want to be. How much they don't
obey them, shows us a whole lot more. If we want to understand people,
and we SHOULD, we should know their religions. And not just because
other religions look very strange to us. Well, ours look equally
strange to them. I could get into specifics, but that could insult a
lot of people. I know, it's SO sad I can't do that as much as I used
to." She tried not to laugh, and struggled to say, "Absolutely!" We
went to break.
We shared grins. Back from break, I said, "There is another aspect to
religions that makes them worth learning about. They were started for
serious and interesting reasons, and they played a large part in
history, in creating it, and destroying it, also. How many wars were
NOT caused by religions? We all have to live and work with people of
all kinds. That's part of what makes life interesting. The more we know
and understand people, and why they are who they are, the more we can
do that better. And the more we can love them, and help them to love
us. That's a good thing." I signaled the end. They closed that part of
the show.
I said, "People think America was founded on freedom of religion. It
wasn't, exactly. Only one colony was. Guess?" None of the crew knew. I
said, "It WOULD be the smallest." Producer said, "Oh. Rhode Island." I
said, "And William Penn, the founder of Pensilvania, was a Quaker, and
a friend of the founder of that denomination. Puritans hated the
Quakers. That colony allowed all religions, but not atheists." He said,
"We'll mention those things in the followup discussion. Thank you!" I
said, "You're welcome."
There was a lot of comment about different things in that show. Some
actually wanted more insults from me. U.S. President called me, and
said she was happy not to have insults from me. We chuckled.
