Well, papoose boards are commonly used in the Emergency
Department as restraints for necessary surgical procedures
(like suturing lacerations). In ambulances, I suppose they're the
equivalent of backboards for adults. If they're being turned to
wrongful purposes, that's not the fault of the designers or the
manufactures.
