Stephen's Secure Blog #362
These stories about Stephen began was when he was 10 years old, and
moving to a new part of the country to attend a special school for
gifted students, in the 1950's. This was from a time before computers
would fit on a desk, and when people communicated with friends in other
countries by actual letters sent through the postal service. He wrote
225 of them to a friend. He stopped writing to his penpal, but found he
still wanted to record his life, in case he lost his memory again, and
wrote 30 entries in his first logbook. Then he wrote to an artificial
intelligence called Geenee, in the master computer in his school for
gifted students, which he started attending in 2016. Now it's after
2018, and he's continuing to save his memories in a secure blog.
All characters are fictitious, even if some of them might have names
that belong to some actual people, or act like people we know.
The stories may not be posted in chronological order.
Stephen is 18 in this story, in Winter of year 9 of his special school.
Stephen's Secure Blog #362 "Love in the Gallery"
START Page
I told Chad what I planned for the next Gallery, and he practically
cried his eyes out. I said "You don't object?" He said "I can't. Not to
that! Never!" I said "With that inducement, I suppose I should do it.
But a restriction. We can't tell anybody in advance." He said "Yes.
They would swarm the place. You're going to have a range of prices
based on materials?" I said "And on shapes and settings. Starting at
$50 for that crowd, I think." Chad said "We bought the space next door,
so we'll be expanding." I said "Good. I've got a new exhibit for that.
And I'd like to have a real store there, open regular hours, with
jewelry and gifts of all price ranges, premises decorated in Tibetan
design, and with Buddhist things." He said "I wondered when you would
go there. There is space for that. What about staff?" I said "We could
ask in the Monasteries if they want to staff it on a rotating basis, or
we could use regular hires, but a Senior Adept must monitor for safety,
either way. If we actually do it." He said "You'll build in
safeguards?" I said "Absolutely! No weapon of any kind will be allowed
in the door, and no explosives, not even a butane lighter. No bullets,
either, in case they try to fire through the window or door. Windows
and display cases won't break, and nobody but staff will be able to get
behind them. One thing, though. No custom work, not even ring sizing."
He said "We'll do it. I'll discuss it with Eli and Rhamcha. Opening it
after the next gallery event." I said "Thanks." We hugged and kissed.
The new expanded Gallery event was big news, and we drew a very big
crowd. We had our usual special guests, but some new ones, too. I
greeted them all at the door. So did Rose. She stopped one carrying a
gun, and passed her to me. I said "I thought everybody knew about the
no guns rule now." She said "Truthfully, I didn't think about it. Off
duty police." I said "ID?" She showed it. I said "Well, Lieutenant,
here is the situation. That thing can't come in here. You can either
leave with it, or I can port it to someplace you designate for
safekeeping. And for New York's Finest, I'll port it back to you when
you go through the door on your way out." She said "You can't make an
exception?" I said "It actually can't get through the door. There is a
special barrier in place." She said "Oh! I accept. Please do the take
and return." I bowed, and said, "It's done. Have a good time here."
Then there was somebody demanding to come inside, who didn't have a
receipt or proof of deposit. I asked him to wait at the end of the
line. He fussed about it, but he did. Rose went into the room with the
crowd, and I talked to the gate crasher.
I said "John, you should know that I have the ability to detect
lies." He said, "So it's true." I said "And not being able to lie is
part of that. So, why are you here?" He said "Can you read my mind?" I
said "Full telepathy is the rarest of psionic talents, and of that, the
least used. So, even if you ask me to, unless it's to save your life,
or the life of another, I will not even try." He said "But I want you
to. Something happened to me when I was a child, and the memories slide
in and out. I don't know how to explain it." I said "When did the event
happen?" He said "June of 1959." I said "You may enter, if you don't
discuss it with anybody. See me after the event." He said "Wow! Thank
you!" I said "One more thing. This is critically important. Do NOT
touch any of my things here, even by accident. Same for the people.
Some of them have something of the psionic in them, and in your state,
it could really mess up your mind. Our security chief is going to be
watching you. BE CAREFUL!" He said "Wow! I will." I said "You might
want to think up another word to use in place of wow, before you wear
it out." He almost choked. There was some loud laughter in the back of
the room. I said "That's Hawk, the security chief I mentioned. My
brother in law. He laughs at almost everything I say." More laughter.
He looked at me in wonder and confusion.
I went to the stage, and Hawk rang the bell. I said to him, "That's
getting to be a standard thing here. Maybe we should bronze it. Oh, it
already is." He said "Right. Don't tinker with the bell." Some groans.
I wiggled my eyebrows at the audience, and they chuckled. I said "We
have some more space now, so I've filled it with some new things I've
been saving. In that area is my early man section. Early woman, too.
Early, because they didn't spend so much time putting on makeup." Rose
poked me, and I said, "Er, ouch." They laughed well. I said "Or
clothes." And I cringed, and they laughed some more. I said "They are
in my usual diversity of media, and come with museum quality
documentation certifying accuracy, and that includes the hunting
scenes, such as with the mastodon. And they are divided in inhabited
area by continent. Those that were incontinent, I didn't include in the
gallery, because of the mess." Some laughter, Hawk's being the loudest.
I said "Over there, be dinosaurs and other old critters, and some are
shown with good table manners nowhere to be seen. Or good tables,
actually."
I said "Over there, are paintings and busts, of famous people. They
are actually how they looked, certified accurate. Similar items are in
some museums. There are paintings of famous things in history, too. All
Accurate. Lastly, among the new things, are gem sculptures and jewelry,
and some plain rocks, all with an unusual attribute. When you put them
to your forehead, you will feel my love, which will never wear out. But
there is more. A service. If you purchase one, and want this service, I
will erase my love, and put YOUR love in it for a specific person, and
engrave it as you choose, for you to use as a gift for that person, and
at no extra charge." There were a lot of wows. I said "I hear that a
lot." Some chuckles. I said "I'll announce when it is the time I will
start doing the love switch service for those who want it. Please have
fun, and spend all your money to help the new country of Tibet."
I stepped down off the stage, and the museum people rushed at me. I
made like I was looking for a place to hide. They laughed. I said to
them, "Wait! I just thought of some of those things. I didn't have time
to shop them around to each of you. I've been a little busy. Marriage,
you know. And making outrageous comments to the media." They laughed
some more. I said "And teaching. And most importantly, helping people."
They nodded. Sharon said "You are forgiven." The professor from Yale,
said, "But just barely." I said "We've been barely." More laughter,
with Hawk really going at it. We all looked at him, and he tried to
stop. Then he did, abruptly. I saw why. I said "Please excuse me a
moment." I went to John, who was being held by Hawk's 4th hands.
I said to him, "You were told not to touch things, and why, yet you
were about to." He said "I couldn't help it. It's like I had to." I
said "It would have been bad for your problem if you had. With your
permission, I will put you in time stasis until our meeting after the
event. You won't notice any passage of time, and it's perfectly safe.
Or you can leave now." He said "Please, I have to see you. I accept." I
did that, and ported him to the back room. I said to those who had
witnessed it, "A gate crasher, who wants to see me about a personal
problem." They nodded, satisfied.
Back with the museum people, Sharon said, "Never a dull moment around
you." I said "What's a dull moment?" They laughed. I said "Oh, and
speaking about that, you might want to watch the next after love
broadcast interview. Might be a question about ancient aliens." The
professor, said, "Wait! Are you feeding them questions?" I said "It's
not as if they aren't VERY hungry." She said "What are you going to
say?" I said "I don't know yet. Might discover something new. Er, or
old." Some chuckles. Sharon said "I see you selected scenes of early
man, very carefully." They laughed. I said "Actually, I had to
composite them. Couldn't find a family where all had all their hands
er, above their waists at the same time." They laughed well. One said
"Pardon me, but I overheard that. Do you mean that you actually saw
them?" I said "Yes, sometimes I can do that, which is why I certify
them as accurate. I've been doing that since I was twelve, but in a
trance, and not in control. I've improved a little since then. With
early man, and woman, what they usually did with their hands most of
the time, would not meet with the approval of current er, prudes." He
howled with laughter.
I talked with Father Paolo. I said "Things going well for you?" He
grinned, and said, "The more outrageous you are, from their point of
view, the better things are for me." I said "I think I should say
that's good." He grinned some more. I said "Your boss enjoying it?" He
winked. I said "You know, things will have to change someday." He said
"I think you know how and who." I said "I suspect, not know. Now,
anyway. And if I did know, I wouldn't tell you. The future is a very
tricky thing. Knowing it, can change it. I'll know more when I get to
the other side, but I wouldn't tell you then, either." He said "But you
must live longer than I." I said "We should live each day as if it will
be our last, and we are not the ones who should decide which last day,
is the real last day, or even consider it. I will go on to my next
existence when I am required to, and you know that, which we have
discussed before."
He nodded acceptance. He said "No one has yet made the Jesus files
public. Are you disappointed?" I said "Only in not seeing somebody of
courage. If I really wanted them public, I would have done it myself."
He said "You are testing us." I said "We are all being tested by
existence. I am part of that existence, albeit perhaps something of an
unusually irritating part." He laughed. I said "Seriously, I am so much
in God's pocket, I don't know if half of what I do is as His agent, or
on my own." He said "Seriously, my boss and I think there is no
difference." I said "Wow! Yes, I can say that, too." He laughed some
more. He said "The unusual is extended. Hawk didn't laugh." I said
"Even he has his serious side. Don't think little of him. He is the
third most intelligent and powerful corporeal being we know of." He
bowed to Hawk, who bowed back. I said to him, "Stay after, if you want
to witness something interesting, and specific to your calling." He
said "Really?" I said "Demonic possession, or what passes as that for
your profession." He couldn't quite say wow. I bowed to him, and
wandered off. Hawk and Rose were VERY interested. Chad was in shock. I
let him see I was amused by that, and he gave me a bad face in return,
back to normal.
I had more conversations, but about my art. When it was time, I
announced, "Those who want the custom love service, please come at me."
They did. I said "Er, slowly." Some chuckles. I said to the first one,
with a sapphire pendant, "Ma'am, do you feel love for the person you
want to give that to?" She said "I do." I said "Now here's how we're
going to do it, and it's not going to be easy. You are going to push
that love at me, and I'm going to grab it and put it into the gem's
crystal structure. When I say start, I want you to think about that
person, and who that person is, and how much love you have for that
person, really hard, and try to push it at me. Ready?" She nodded. I
said "Start!" She did, and I caught it, and put it into the stone. I
said "Done! You can relax now. Or as much as you can in a situation
like this." Some chuckles. I said "Engraving?" She told me the words,
and I put them in the gold, and gave it back to her, and said, "Put it
to your forehead and test it." She did, and cried. I said "Successful?"
She could only nod. I did a lot more of them, and for some who were
there as husband and wife. Some wanted the inscriptions to be private,
and either handed them to me on paper, or whispered them to me. I
surprised some by engraving some stones, too.
Near the end of the event, I announced, "It has become the custom in
these events to end it with a musical performance. Is that still
desired?" I said, rubbing my ear, "That wasn't exactly musical, but I
get the message." Some chuckles. I said "This time, I thought I would
try something a little different." Laughter. I said sadly, "So little
respect." More laughter. I slashed the air, like in anger, and there
was a brief streak of light, and a horn sounded. I looked surprised,
and then interested. I did it slower, and there was a steady tone, and
the light stayed. I pushed the light up, and the pitch went higher.
Then I poked the air in various places, making different sounds. Then I
went into speed mode, and poked and stashed the air like crazy, making
a pleasing symphony of melodic sound, and at the same time with those
actions, painting with different colors of light. In the end, when I
finished moving, there was "Starry Night", by Vincent Van Gogh hanging
in the air in front of me, reversed from my point of view, but correct
for the audience. I walked from behind it, to the side, and bowed.
There was shocked silence. Then wild thunderous applause.
After that died down, I said, "I just thought of doing this, right
before I started. You here are the first to see me combine painting and
playing music in real time. I wasn't sure if it would work." They
applauded some more. I thanked them, and did my love blessing, and
ported to the back. Those who had been invited, stayed after closing. I
left the light painting hanging in the air.
