Stephen's Secure Blog #166
These stories about Stephen began was when he was 10 years old, and
moving to a new part of the country to attend a special school for
gifted students, in the 1950's. This was from a time before computers
would fit on a desk, and when people communicated with friends in other
countries by actual letters sent through the postal service. He wrote
225 of them to a friend. He stopped writing to his penpal, but found he
still wanted to record his life, in case he lost his memory again, and
wrote 30 entries in his first logbook. Then he wrote to an artificial
intelligence called Geenee, in the master computer in his school for
gifted students, which he started attending in 2016. Now it's after
2018, and he's continuing to save his memories in a secure blog.
All characters are fictitious, even if some of them might have names
that belong to some actual people, or act like people we know.
The stories may not be posted in chronological order.
Stephen is 16 in this story, in the Spring of year 6 of his special
school.

We had a meeting of Seniors. I outlined an investigative plan I had.
Then I said, "It all depends on if I am justified in reading one of
their minds. Tomba?" He said "They have taken no action against us.
However, they do harm innocent people directly, and through their laws
they make and support. They condone and support slavery. They do what
we would label murder. All that on a scale I don't want to imagine. I
think any nondestructive means of investigation is warranted against
those in power, and those physically committing the crimes, and is more
than just, including minimal violence in support of self protection,
and protection of others in imminent danger of harm, if needed. The
aspect of your plan which shows how much of a Sneaky Suspicious Devious
Devil you are [laughter], might cause some bad consequences for some
people, but I think they would do it if they could, and appear to
deserve the consequences. Still, I recommend you be careful of backlash
on that part." I said "Thank you. Now is a good time. Ichi will backup
and record. Want to connect and watch?" They did.
I put a 4th viewpoint in the meeting of the Supreme Authority, which
was like the President of the US, and his Cabinet. They were all men,
and all Adepts. They had some training, but not as scientific as ours.
The Supreme Leader was the strongest. The next strongest was the head
of the secret police, and feared and despised by most in the room. I
copied all his memories to a crystal. I let him feel something. He did
react to what I did, but just slightly, because he didn't know what was
happening. Then I did the same to the Leader, and let him know he was
being invaded, with a directionality pointing to the man I had invaded
just before. That caused some excitement.
The Leader jumped to his feet and pointed at the Policeman, and
yelled, "How dare you invade my mind!" The accused tried to deny it,
but that didn't work out very well. I took the opportunity to copy the
memories of all the rest, into crystals, and do inventories, too. None
of them noticed. The others edged away from the poor man, who then
tried to draw his gun. The Leader blasted it out of his hand with
psychic force. Then the others made ready to defend themselves. The
Policeman tried to run to the door, and was hit in the back by some
more force, but did make it out alive. The Leader ordered the Commander
of the Military to tell the Assistant Chief of the Secret Police that
his Chief was to be arrested and confined. That happened, which the
assistant liked a lot.
Then we discussed what happened. Ichi said, "Will they realize that
the Policeman couldn't have done what the Leader felt and thinks
happened?" I gave them an evil grin, and said, "What would happen if
they do?" Ivanna laughed. I gave her a look, and she said, "They HAVE
to believe he could, even though they know he couldn't. They can't
imagine or accept that anybody else but they could. It had to be
somebody in the room, and he was the most powerful of the others. They
will think he had help from one or more of them. So, they will become
VERY suspicious of each other, causing all kinds of problems, and
practically paralyze the highest part of their government." Ichi said
"Setting up some REAL fun when he does it again, after they recover."
We all smiled, including Tomba, who said, "That went very well." I
bowed my thanks to him.
Then I gave my report. "None of them are geniuses. Highest IQ was the
victim, at 138. None have an object sense good enough to use the 4th,
except by accident. They have better than basic energy manipulation,
little precognition, and almost no active emotion sense. It's there,
but suppressed. They are fully of The Dark. They care only about
personal power. One more thing. They kill children who they think will
grow up to be more powerful than they are, and there is an underground
which hides and protects them." I cried. They all comforted me, knowing
about my weakness for children. Rose said "That's my job. I'll see
they're protected." Ichi said "You get any help you want for that." She
nodded, and said, "After I work out the details, after I study the
crystals."
We spent a few days studying the crystals, and then had another
meeting. We discussed some things. Well, they did. I was silent. They
kept stealing glances at me, to see if I was going to say something. If
I had been in the mood, I would have been amused. Finally, Ichi said,
"Stephen. What is it?" I said "The Betrayal Principle." Ivanna nodded.
I nodded to her, and she said, "Their society is so corrupted, if we
come out to anybody, they are likely to betray us to seek advantage
from the rulers." Rose said "Don't they know they will eventually be
killed for that?" Nigel said "Yes, but their hope fools them into
disregarding that." Ichi said "And the parents of the children we want
to save, who might not betray us, won't believe and trust us. The
children will, feeling our emotions, but their parents won't believe
them." Pete said "We can't even trust the Guardians of their other
worlds not to betray us. They might have relatives they could want to
trade information for freedom, for." That made for some pretty glum
feelings.
I said "So we have to have a plan which takes that into account, and
makes it an advantage. The key word is 'misdirection'." Ichi grinned
and said, "Make them chase phantoms they never find." Hawk said, "While
we train their replacements." I said "They have telepaths." Pete said
"But a only few, and not as good as you and Rose." Ichi said to me,
"Can you remove that ability, without disturbing anything else?" I said
"I don't know. Probably not. I could disable their psionic ability for
good, so that it can't be repaired, but not unless I see them directly
harming somebody with it. Invading privacy doesn't justify that. They
try not to let the public know about that ability, so they don't use
their other abilities where it can be traced to them." Rose said "Can
you operate on their minds, when there is justification, so they don't
remember fighting with you, in a way another telepath can't discover
and restore?" I said "I see what you're getting at. I show up and
defend their victim, and they attack me, and I defeat them. I don't
know. But even if I could, there would be complications with
witnesses." Nigel said, "Who don't have to know you were there." I said
"But the TP might run, instead of fight, when he sees my aura." Race
said "Put the victim to sleep, and appear as a projection to the TP,
but not in your true form. Make the projection be as real as you can to
his perception. Armed, too." I sighed.
I said "I didn't want to mention this, ever, but you know I can
duplicate practically anything, now. That includes a body." Ichi said
"I never thought of that, probably because I didn't want to." Hawk
yelled, "Oh my God!" We looked at him. He was all excited, and said,
"Zombies!" I said "Brilliant! Retribution from beyond the grave!" Pete
was thunderstruck, and said, "They will NEVER look beyond that. It
won't be outsiders interfering with them, but their very own people,
and they can't be killed, because they're already dead!" I said "I'll
have to set up some forth controls to manage the corpses. Speech will
be the hardest to do. And then there is transporting them to the scene.
For us, anyway." Hawk said "So speaks the best Sneaky Suspicious
Devious Devil in existence!" I pointed at him, and said, "Get him!"
We did, and he enjoyed every second of it, and so did we, with a lot
of fine finishes in the link.
