Stephen's Secure Blog #138
These stories about Stephen began was when he was 10 years old, and
moving to a new part of the country to attend a special school for
gifted students, in the 1950's. This was from a time before computers
would fit on a desk, and when people communicated with friends in other
countries by actual letters sent through the postal service. He wrote
225 of them to a friend. He stopped writing to his penpal, but found he
still wanted to record his life, in case he lost his memory again, and
wrote 30 entries in his first logbook. Then he wrote to an artificial
intelligence called Geenee, in the master computer in his school for
gifted students, which he started attending in 2016. Now it's after
2018, and he's continuing to save his memories in a secure blog.
All characters are fictitious, even if some of them might have names
that belong to some actual people, or act like people we know.
The stories may not be posted in chronological order.
Stephen is 15 in this story, in late Winter of year 5 of his special
school.

I insisted the other two Admirals be present in the meeting, too.
Then, after we sustained ourselves with snacks, the meeting started.
He noticed that some of us were smiling. He cleared his throat, "I'm
missing something. Will somebody enlighten me?" I nodded at Angrala,
who said, "Sir, Stephen's diplomatic rank is such that he represents
the governments of three major planets of their Galactic Council, which
is something like our Confederation, and the Council itself, and is
empowered to act on their behalf, with binding agreements. In effect,
he is their temporary Head of State to us. He has the power and
authority to declare war, and to negotiate treaties. That puts his rank
above any military rank, and below only a Head of State of a major
planet or organized group of planets." He said "Oh! Stephen, what is
your desire?" I said "Until the past is resolved, I will run this
meeting. Please have the Marine who struck me, brought here
immediately, and with his weapon." He gave the order, and in five
minutes he was in the room, still assembling his uniform. When he saw
all who were there, he almost wet his pants.
I said "Please order him to answer all my questions truthfully. He
should know the penalties for not complying with that order." It was
given. I said to him, "State your orders you were given which involved
me, and who gave them." He did. I said "Did that officer know you had
struck prisoners in the past?" He didn't want to answer, but he said
"Yes sir." I said "Did she ever tell you not to do that?" He said "No
sir." I said "Were you and her aware that is against regulations?" He
said "Yes sir." I said "Do you know if her superiors know about the
abuse of prisoners, and that she did not stop it?" He said "Yes sir." I
said "Were you ever told I was a prisoner?" He said "No sir." I said
"Why did you strike me?" He said "You disobeyed my command." I said "Is
that authorized procedure?" He said "No sir." I said "Does it happen
often, with you, and the others who carry out similar duties?" He
struggled, but said "Yes sir." I said "Do you have any ideas why it is
not authorized?" He said "Because it's wrong, sir." I said "While very
true, that is not the reason. Did you think to check me for weapons
before you hit me?" He looked really sick, and said, "No sir. Did you
have any?" I said "No. I don't need them. I could have killed you and
your men before you could blink twice, without even touching you." I
stood, and said, "Draw your weapon as fast as you can." He didn't. The
Admiral yelled "DRAW!" He did, and I blasted it across the room with
Ki. I said "That was minimal power. I could have knocked down the metal
walls here with that. I am what your people call a Supreme Master of
martial arts. You owe your life to my honor. I was not a prisoner, but
possibly the most important guest your Confed has ever had. And you hit
me in the face. I let you live. Remember that, in the civilian life you
will be resuming. Dismissed and confined to quarters. Leave your
weapon." The Admiral said "As ordered."
I faced the first Admiral, and said, "Why was I kept in a locked room
with no water and no access to counsel?" He said "I did not know of
your status." I said "Tell us what you did know, and why that wasn't
what you were informed of." He said "I refuse." I said "Do you think
I'm being vindictive? Seeking revenge?" He said "Yes." I said "I am not
capable of that, which you seem incapable of understanding. I suggest
you stop assuming that my motivations are the same as yours would be. I
did what I did just now to save that Marine's live. The next time he
struck somebody could have been the last thing he ever did. Do you
actually want that kind of person in this organization?" He didn't say
anything. I said in my command voice, "ANSWER ME!" He said "No sir!" He
was very surprised he did it. I said "Do you still not see what I'm
doing?" He said with a sigh, "I think I do. I apologize for all the
wrong I done to you, my uniform, and the Confederation. I hereby resign
my commission." I said "I accept the apology, but I am not empowered to
address the rest of your statement. What I hope to accomplish is to
determine what went wrong, and how, to enable us to repair things so
that I will be justified in allowing your Confederation to have contact
with the worlds of the Galactic Council. I request that you stay and
assist with that." I said softly "I don't just help organizations." He
knew what I meant, and said, "I temporarily withdraw my resignation,
but leave it available at the will of my superiors." I bowed to him,
and he bowed in return, and cooperated fully. The other admiral saw the
wisdom of that, and also cooperated.
I said "Before I step down as chairman of this meeting, there is one
more thing to accomplish in this current process. What will be done to
help keep this kind of thing, and the attitude and organizational
system which enabled it, from happening again, and becoming even worse?
We need to do this, because there can be no real secrets from the
public who you are charged to work for. They will find out all that
happened. They have a right to know. When they see how you treated the
possible most important person they will probably ever see, what will
they think of how you will treat the average person you are supposed to
serve? How can they trust your honor and integrity? Only after you show
them you will make every possible effort to live up to the highest
standards they expect of you, that you have sworn to uphold, will you
be able to heal that trust. Let's get to work." We did. Well into the
evening. At the end, I said, "A good beginning. I think now it can be
separated from my own duties, so I can begin the diplomatic process.
For this, I request the assistance of Captain Krack, and his Ship's
Psychologist, and any others of his team he would like to be involved.
That includes when we return to the GC. They understand some of the
language now, and will be very useful in establishing good relations.
And I know them as good and honorable people. And I think they like me.
One can't ever put too much value on that." They all smiled. I said
"With permission, I would like to stay on the ship." That was granted.
those who experienced that the first time.
Back in the ship, we had another meeting, with Ichi and Rose
attending by projection. I said "First, I want to apologize for
partially taking the decision away from you about helping me with
this." Captain Krack looked at his people, and then said to me,
"Apology not accepted for helping us be a part of the most exciting
things going on since I don't know when." I looked all forlorn, and
said "Rejection is so hard to take." He laughed. I said "I'm not
unhappy about how things worked out for me. It was better than I had
hoped. In fact, I was concerned it wouldn't be bad enough to motivate
useful reform." Captain Krack said in surprise, "You wanted to be
abused?" I said "My missions usually have more than one objective. I
spoke the truth. I would not allow contact with the Confed as it was.
Therefore, I had to make it want to change to something more
acceptable. I didn't tell you that in advance, because I didn't want to
cause any conflict in you with your loyalties." He said in wonder,
"Wow! You really think big!" Ichi said "He hears that a lot, too." I
said "There is still more to do on the motivation. That's why we have
the recordings. Soon, we will have to decide when and what of them to
make public. Not for another day, at least. The same for the auction
and museum announcements. Right now, the Admirals are thinking over
what's happened, and something about who I am. They are going to be
VERY impressed with me, and have a lot of respect. That's why we should
be careful about mentioning that there are more of people like me, or
they will be frightened out of their skins." They laughed and agreed. I
said "I think some of you don't understand that fully yet. ANY of my
advanced associates could have done what I did, and just as well, if
not better. I didn't use any special abilities, except at the
conference, and that was martial arts, and love. We planned this as a
team, and we did this as a team, and will keep this going as a team,
because we ARE a team, and each of you played a very important part in
it, to make it work so far. I love you all!"
In my rooms on the ship, with Ichi, Rose, Hawk, Wantune, and Angrala,
I said "The easy part is almost over. Then we get to the tough part.
How to get the two very different cultures to accept and respect each
other. And do it without exposing too much Guardian stuff. I still
don't know if, or how much, they should know about me regarding Attin
Lantos ReyMu. I feel only the people, or some of them, of Misnok, are
qualified to decide that." Wantune said "I have to agree with that,
even though I don't want to. You don't want to be overrun with fanatic
worshipers, which I truly appreciate. And it could expose too much of
us. But you don't feel it is right to keep it from them, and you can't
lie about it." Hawk said "Should the Admiral be told?" Rose said, "He's
going to remember what Stephen said in the Med Center, and is going to
ask." Ichi said "If you want to have some revenge on him, tell him." We
grinned. Angrala said "We still can put that off for a while." I said
"Yes, but I'm undecided if indecision is the right policy." They
laughed. Those closest to me hugged and kissed me. Wantune noticed the
boys did that too, and noticed that I noticed he noticed, and felt
embarrassment. Angrala said to him, "What do you think they are going
to do, after they send you home? It's pretty much the only form of
celebration they have." Hawk said, "Not that we need any excuse to have
fun." Wantune said to her, "You have er, experienced it with them?" Her
gigantic grin answered him. I said to him, "You are welcome to join us.
If you do, it will be an experience you will never forget. Or want to."
The living room was carpeted, but not enough. I ported in some more
padding, while we were all stripping each other. I asked Madia to join
us, to help with the gender balance, which she was glad to do. Ichi
explained the rules. Then he held me while Rose licked my nuts, in the
link. Then Hawk did, and the others were all helping each other. When
his mouth was available, I could hear him saying wow over and over
again. I succeeded in not laughing at that. We had two sessions, with a
short rest period between them, with great finishes. After the last, I
conclusions?" He tried to be serious, and said, "I think it needs more
experimental research, before a definitive conclusion is reached. MUCH
more." I said "I think there will be few disagreements with that." We
laughed. He said "Seriously, I'm busily rearranging my previous ideas
regarding sexuality and the sexual experience." I said "While you're
rearranging my anatomy?" He said "That's funny! I didn't even notice I
was doing that, while I was enjoying your feeling of it. That I
actually can do all that, I feel is quite liberating." Then he kissed
me on the lips. And then kissed everybody else. I said "If you and your
to, and they should, but it will have to be of their own will. Yes,
Stephen, I've grown. Oh, I didn't mean that!" We laughed.
