Stephen's Secure Blog #70
These stories about Stephen began was when he was 10 years old, and
moving to a new part of the country to attend a special school for
gifted students, in the 1950's. This was from a time before computers
would fit on a desk, and when people communicated with friends in other
countries by actual letters sent through the postal service. He wrote
225 of them to a friend. He stopped writing to his penpal, but found he
still wanted to record his life, in case he lost his memory again, and
wrote 30 entries in his first logbook. Then he wrote to an artificial
intelligence called Geenee, in the master computer in his school for
gifted students, which he started attending in 2016. Now it's 2018 and
later, and he's continuing to save his memories in a secure blog.
All characters are fictitious, even if some of them might have names
that belong to some actual people, or act like people we know.
The stories may not be posted in chronological order.
Stephen is 13 in this story, in the Summer, after the end of year 3 of
his special school.
Stephen's Secure Blog #70 "After Tsuriss"
START Page
At Hissssner's home, with Zander, we talked. I said "Any comments
about what has happened here today? Other than wow." They laughed.
Zander said, "Was it what you expected?" I said "I don't usually
operate that way. Less surprises. What about yourselves?" Hissssner
said, "Not what I expected at all, from them, or you. Strangely, the
least expected was that you split up your team. I have not seen that
before." I said "I should tell you that we are separated in body, but
not in awareness. I am with them, and they are with me. We are usually
like this on a mission. Before you ask how, I'll say that there are
various methods we can use for that, which we individually choose from
based on our personal abilities and interests. I sent them with
Hoechess because they are larger than I am, and so they would be able
to display more physical strength without questions about it, if
needed, than I would. Three were not needed, so I stayed behind, even
though I was personally reluctant to part from the company of
Hoechess." He grinned and said, "I could feel the sexual interest.
Unusual between different species." I said "I don't care how unusual or
usual it might be. It is what it is, and I think it's going to result
in a lot of very exciting fun. For us. Not for you, for which I'm very
sorry." He said "Don't be concerned. We'll survive that." I said "There
said, "No!" Then, "Oh, I apologize. That was unexpected." He was very
embarrassed. Hissssner was intrigued, but didn't comment.
I said to Hissssner, "You were right about the Members of the
Council. In fact, they could be doing actual harm, and not just be
useless." He said, "Are you thinking of doing something about that?" I
grinned and said, "Yes, for the past 50 years. Events must progress a
few years more, before a good decision can be made. And I don't know
how they will react when they find out that we are doing their work
which they are required to do, and don't, better than they could if
they actually tried to be useful. Speaking about useful, I have an idea
for Zander's school. Like ours, it would be best if it were in the city
of the most powerful government of the planet. But there are the
inspection problems. One solution is to buy an already made building,
or buildings, preferably a school, or unused religious center, and make
it over. We have done that. It might work here. Ideas?" Zander said "We
have thought of that, but there is the money issue." I said "You should
be receiving a lot of that soon, from the last asteroid we sold for
processing. It was 5 times bigger than the previous one, and richer."
He looked very interested, and said, "That will help!" I said "We can
keep giving them rich asteroids as long as needed, until your school
becomes self supporting. It will be. When you have the most intelligent
students, with the best in education, they WILL invent things, which
will be owned by the school. You need to make sure that is in the
contract. Here is an example of one of our student contracts,
translated into GC. You would need to have a lawyer write a similar one
for you to comply with your own legal system." I gave it to Zander.
I said to Hissssner, "Why are you freezing yourself? You should bring
the heat up to your usual level." He said "But it makes you
uncomfortable!" I said "I can control my immediate environment. You
can't. But there is something more important. Some of the art in this
room could be damaged by too frequent fluctuations in climate. I would
REALLY not like that to happen!" That got his attention, and he spoke
into a communication device and ordered the change. Zander said to me,
"How will you find a Tsuriss student for me?" I said "You should know
that. The real difficulty is arranging for them to leave their planet
and come here for school. One young enough to be the best kind of
student, isn't going to come. Therefore, the first will have to be a
young adult, and that will be very difficult to find, because she will
need personal qualities which are usually either acquired in our kind
of school, or through much childhood hardship. We don't have fifty or a
hundred years to spend waiting for somebody like you to grow into the
position of teaching their own people." He said "I had not thought of
that. Now that you have explained it, I see that you are correct." I
said "All this is new to you, but old to me, so don't be disappointed
you don't think of all these things at once. In fact, expect it, and so
be pleasantly surprised when something knew to be learned, comes your
way by whatever means it does." He said "Thank you, Master Teacher." I
said "You are welcome."
Hissssner said to me, "I still find it difficult to remember how wise
you are, so it often comes as a surprise when you demonstrate it.
70,000 years is a lot of wisdom." I grinned and said "Actually, it's
not. Most of that time was spent doing very unwise things." He laughed.
I said "While I have the memories of many past lives, most of them did
not. My current personality is mostly made up of what has happened in
this life and in my previous life. In the other lives, I have done some
very strange things." He said "Such as?" I said "I fought a duel with
my best friend, who became my best friend after he killed my previous
best friend, and asked him to kill me. He did. I asked a dead holy
person to stop making miracles, and he stopped. I was rich and
important, and threw bags of coins in the open windows of poor families
who I didn't like, anonymously in the dark of the night. I was a
fanatic trying to rouse the public to do stupid things, and was stoned
to death for it, by my own friends. Er, former friends. Interesting
lives and times, those. Most of them I would rather not remember. My
most frustrating life I remember, was the longest. And the only one in
which I was a female." Zander said, "Oh! Please tell him. He should
know. Please."
I said "She lived 842 years." Hissssner said, "I thought your
lifespan is less than a hundred." I said "It was 900 then, and the Van
threw all that away." He said "The VAN!?" I told him the story. He said
"Wow!" Almost continuously. I said "If the people who became the Van
had stayed and helped the Earth recover, and had reproduced there,
things would have been very different for my people. That was bad
enough, but the Van actually devolved, instead of evolved, and by
horribly foolish choice. They could have become like the Gods they
fantasized they were becoming, but in their personal greed, they became
little more than emotionally and physically stunted pests. We will not
let them switch to new bodies. When their current ones wear out, they
will be no more. A kindness they don't deserve." He said very quietly,
"How is that a kindness?" I said "That way they get to reincarnate into
actual natural lifeforms, just like everybody else does. The other
option is to put them in time suspended storage for all eternity." He
said "Wow! You can do that?" I said "We have all the Van we took from
their stations, in that condition. We will return them to their planet
in a few years to live out their lives. We don't want the rest of them
to know what we are doing until we capture all their starships." He
said "Oh."
I said "Enough of that sadness. Your plates will be on time.
Automated processes help speed some parts of their er, construction.
I'm curious. Why haven't you asked for some specific art, instead of
only acquiring things you have seen?" He said "I have no creative
ability, only appreciation. However, there is something I would like. A
portrait of myself." He said "Zander, that was in interesting
reaction." I said "Yes, Zander. That was. Should that indicate more
practice in control might be desirable?" He said, embarrassedly, "I
must agree. I apologize." I said "You should have already considered
the possibility. Presidents always have portraits. The halls of power
are covered with them. I'm an artist. They kind of go together." They
both laughed. I said "I must come to Zander's defense, and say his
reaction was because of an unusual circumstance. I have already created
your portrait, which he has seen. I had planed to give it to you with
the plates." He said "Oh, that explains it. I made the request too
early, and ruined the surprise." I said "We can live with that. How do
you want the plates delivered?" He said "We can have them picked up at
your home, if you like." I said "I would like it better, if I could
bring them to where they will be usually kept. I would NOT like fumble
fingered delivery people tossing around my hard work." He laughed, and
said, "We could do that." I said "And I will need to instruct the
people who will be in charge of their use and cleaning, in their proper
care. Or I will get on my imperious artist pedestal, and not allow you
to have them." He laughed some more. He said "Yes, that will be
arranged. Were you ever an actor?" I said "We are all actors on the
stage of life. Some of us are more aware of that than others." He said
"Oh yes, you were." I said "I don't need to act like different people
not in accordance with what people think is my nature. I lived them.
They ARE my nature. I am them. Although some would say, better
looking." Zander grinned and said, "There is still room for much
improvement." I said "You don't have to ask if I care what YOU think of
that." He laughed.
I said "Percy and Ichi have returned, and will soon be with us." They
were escorted into the room, by a very puzzled security guard. I said
to Hissssner, "Please ask your security guard to stay." He did. I said
to him, "You have some concerns. Your president, and all the people in
this house, and in any house I and my associates are in, are safe from
attack. To show you this, please draw your weapon fast." Hissssner
nodded, and the security guard started to. Before his weapon fully
cleared its holster, Ichi was there and holding it still. The guard
said, "I didn't even see him move!" I grinned and said, "Well he did,
and that wasn't his fastest. If he had wanted to, he could have easily
killed you with one strike. We don't kill, though. But we aren't too
bad at embarrassing people." He said "I believe that! Can you do that
too?" I said "Yes, and we can do much more. Your president is truly
safe while we are here. That doesn't mean you should relax then. It's
bad to break good habits." He said with respect, "Right, sir. You know
security." I said "We do, and like your work. Pass that on, if you
want." He said "Thank you, sir. I will." He backed out of the room.
Hissssner said, "You are good with men." I said "People who will
willingly put their bodies between you and deadly danger, deserve the
highest respect. It doesn't hurt them to be shown that once in a while.
He had concerns about us. We put them to rest in the best way for the
present circumstances." He said with a lot of respect, "That you did!
One question. Did you tell Ichi to do that?" I said "No. He knew, from
knowing me, and from what has happened here today, just like a super
genius Senior Guardian should. He did exactly what I expected him to,
and perfectly, of course."
Ichi and I merged our shields and hugged each other. I said to
Hissssner, "Would you like to feel what we do, when we do this?" He
said "Oh! Now I know what embarrasses Zander so much. You did that for
him, and probably more. Yes, his reaction proves it. Yes, please." I
said "Zander?" He struggled with himself, and said "Yes." We separated,
and I started the link at moderate intensity. Then Ichi hugged each
other with love. Then we separated and I turned off the link. I said
"It's MUCH better without clothes, and there are other more interesting
things which can really add to the experience. I should let you know
that all three of us here have no sexual attraction for each other.
This is just personal love through our bodies." He said "Thank you for
the experience." We bowed. The meeting was over, and we said our
goodbyes. While Zander was flying us back to my house, I asked him,
"Was our hugging that disturbing?" He said "Yes, but I don't know why,
exactly. That it didn't affect Hissssner that way, tells me the fault
is mine. You knew that." I said "Yes, but it is your choice if you want
to do something about it, or not. I don't know why, and I won't help. I
will NOT violate your privacy in this, even if you ask. It would be bad
for both of us if I did." He said "I understand, and thank and respect
you for that."
I said, to change the subject, "How is Hahchet doing? Is he a good
student?" He said "He is doing VERY well, in academics, and in
psionics. It's all I can do to keep even with him. I like that very
much." I said "I'm glad. It's just what I was hoping for. Let him know
I'm thinking of him, and like his advancement. Have you used the
assistants, and if you have, have they done as you wished?" He said
"You don't know?" I said "I have deliberately not watched or asked
them. This is YOUR school. For you to do well, it needs to be YOU who
does it, not me or anybody else. I might not help even if you ask. So,
the answer?" He said "They have done well, all that I have asked, and
with almost no suggestions, and those were only in private, and wise. I
like and respect Rose and Hawk as people, and as friends. Not once have
they ever let me feel inferior to them, which I actually am." I said
"I'm pleased, and I should let them know that. I might want to borrow
Rose for the next meeting with Hoechess. Her talents are good for
contact work, and she should have more exposure to that." He said "I
have noticed her interest, and I agree." At my house, I said to him,
"Thank you for all your help. That some of it doesn't go according to
plan, isn't your fault.'" He grinned and said, "Right. It's yours." I
laughed.
Percy, Ichi and I, went inside and sat in the living room, after
undressing. I said "Thoughts?" Ichi said, "We seem to attract a lot of
prejudice, for one reason or another." Percy said "While I haven't been
with you on the other occasions, I have seen your reports. It's not
just sad, but depressing, that the rest of the galaxy isn't any better
than restricted world humans." I said "That's a critically important
point we should always keep in mind. People will be people, with the
usual variations in quality, wherever they are, and wherever we go. The
same failings, and the same nobility, even if they are different in a
lot of really interesting ways. We also have to remember they can think
differently, too, and have different motivations. One more thing which
influences everything. What we can understand of them, is only as much
as we understand of ourselves. Something completely alien, will not be
understandable to us, even if we think it could be." Percy said "I'm
not so hot for the cat people now." I said with a grin, "I am, and your
feelings will change the next time you see Surrhaa, I'm sure!" He
grinned and said, "Probably." I said "I can't wait until I am older,
and I can have the feel of their warm fur all over my body." Percy said
"And their educated tongues." Ichi said, while we were moving closer
together, "Their tickling whiskers." Anything else was lost in kisses
and grunts and groaning of vigorous sex play, until we all squirted
very hard. While we were resting, Ichi said, "We should discuss them
more often." We laughed, weakly, which was all we had the strength for.
