It should never happen that we lose a boy we love. We are grown men
and should be buried by the boys we have loved, not have to bury them.
But accidents happen and people die. Sometimes the people who die were
extremely close, sometimes they are boys.
Please keep Bobber, a long time Fort member, in your prayers (if you
do that) or your thoughts if you don't. He recently found out that his
sister and her son were killed in a plane crash in a foreign country.
It just so happens that this particular nephew was pretty much raised
by Bobber from the age of 8 until a few years ago. He was 18 when he
died. It is a sad ending to a sad story that had a great middle part.
Life is so precious and fleeting. And you never know if you're saying
goodbye to someone you love forever. We all know the pain of loss.
Never take the ones you love for granted.
Here's to Bobber... I got your back, my brother. Look to your heart.
There is so much love there, even though it is breaking. You have
three reasons to be strong right now. Find that resilient place deep
inside you and make the memory of your little Dude a burning mission
to take care of the business at hand.

PS- Bone sends his love. He and I shed a few tears together this
evening. He asked if you knew that Dude was his first boyfriend?
He told me that Dude wasn't gay but was such a good friend that he
agreed to be Bone's boyfriend when they were 12. I had forgotten that.
