The Adventures of Stevie #168
These stories were told to me by friends and other people. Some of them
are true. Some of them are only partly true. Some of them should have
been true. LOL
My first post about Stevie ("Call me Stephen!") was when he was 12 and
in summer camp and was told by another camper. This was from a time
before computers would fit on a desk and when people communicated with
friends in other countries by actual letters sent through the postal
service. When children did this those friends were called "penpals".
Carlos is Stevie's penpal in Argentina and knows English. This is a
fictional contrivance to enable Stevie to tell us his stories because
he isn't here in person. I think.
All characters are fictitious, even if some of them might have names
that belong to some actual people, or act like people we know.
Stevie's school is for gifted children who don't fit in regular schools.
The stories may not be posted in chronological order.
Stevie is 14 in this story, in year 4 of his special school near the
end if the school year.
The Adventures of Stevie #168 "The Future, With Dr. Knot"
Dear Carlos,
I had a meeting Monday morning, with Dr. Knot. Chad had briefed him
on the BlueBook action well, and we discussed it. Then I said, "I have
a sense of urgency. It comes from a lot of things. It tells me I need
to get as many people as I can, started on their psychic development,
and increase my team members, and make it so they don't need me to lead
them. I'm only one person. If something happens to me, I don't want all
I have learned and gained for us to be lost. Pete is a good start, and
I'm VERY glad to have him. It tells me I should have done it sooner,
and makes me wonder what else, and who else, I've missed." He said
"That's why you had Chad brief me, instead of doing it yourself.
Building independent competence." I said "Yes. Giving them more
responsibility, and opportunities to grow. It makes me nervous, giving
up the complete control I had, but it's better for everybody that I do
it. They trust me, but now they have to know, not just academically,
that I trust them, by giving them opportunities to prove it to me and
themselves with their work." He said "As a good leader should. You have
something else in mind." I said "I want to test all the students here
for psychic potential, and develop it where I can. I want psychic
potential included as one of the qualifying talents. If any kid should
have their psychic talents developed, it should optimally be somebody
who can make the best use of them, which would be the kind of students
we have here." He said "Even without your reasons and urgency, I agree
with everything you have said. The problem is convincing others, with
whom your reasons will be ineffective, and in fact, detrimental to your
goals. You believe it's critical to the future of humanity that these
talents be fostered, and now, as opposed to later."
I said "Yes. I see, unless something very unusual happens, we will
need at least a hundred fully functional Adepts willing and able to
defend humanity, in about 50 years. They need to be developed in secret
from the very people who would usually be in charge of the defense of
humanity. I don't have to tell you why. The BlueBook action would be
just the beginning, if they knew. I plan to have secret offices around
the world, linked by Port-Alls, staffed by Adepts, watching for
interference. We will need money. I have access to 4 million now, but
that's not nearly enough. We geniuses need to start making some more.
And we have a problem. I hate to say it, but it's you. It's very sad to
me personally, but we have to take into account you won't last forever.
We have to find a successor. It can't be me. I'm not the office type. I
think we need to get started on all this right away, but being
realistic, I know that isn't going to happen in accordance with my
fairytale wishes. Comments?"
Dr. Knot said, "I'm with you all the way. You know that. I've seen
part what you can do, and expected you to want to share it with as many
as you can, even if you didn't have an urgent reason to. I will have to
do some heavy thinking. I'm in relatively good health, for my post
retirement age. I think I can promise you at least 5 more years. I have
friends in academia who might be able to help, but I think the biggest
hurdle is, you want to catch them younger than college age, while they
can still be guided firmly to The Light." I said "Right. I don't want
to have to kill my own students, or worse. And they can't all be
American. I can get access to most Buddhist Temples, and screen their
kids. In fact, they would be extremely honored to have me do that, but
they won't fight. They can be lookouts and teachers, though, like
Tomba. It's a start. I'll go now, to let you think. I have some more
fantastic things to invent this week, while I still have the chance." I
gave him a big grin, and left.
I called father's office. He was in, and had time for me. I said
"I've been thinking." He said "I bet you have!" "I said "Thanks I
needed that. I did it to Pete, when he stayed tense after the action at
home." I told him all I told Dr. Knot, and said I did that. He said "I
have been thinking the same things. I know you want to tell that to the
Director, and I agree you should. How you do it is something else. My
presence would add to the seriousness of the situation, but he wouldn't
be as free with his feelings as he would be, just with people he is
attracted to." I said "I agree. What if we split it? You come in with
me and Chad, who the director adores, and then have to go somewhere
else after my presentation." He said "I like that. We'll do it. I'll
set up the meeting, and call or contact you when it's on." I said
"Father, there is something I want to tell you. It's personal. I've
noticed for a long time now, how much I think and act like you do at
your best and most effective. I can't think of a better man I would
want to emulate, than you. I'm SO lucky to have YOU as my father. Oh,
and I love you, too. There! I did it in a way which didn't mess you up
with a hug. You should thank me for that." He said "Right. Thank you. I
can't think of a better man anybody could have for a son. I'm lucky,
too. Now we both need to get to work. Take care."
I asked Chad for a private conference. I told him about Pete's
progress, and everything I told Dr. Knot and father. He said "You're
right. We investigate the possibilities first, then we find sponsors if
we can, then we set up operating principles. The Director approach
could be interesting, even if it didn't yield much results. What if he
wants sex for favors? I would do it. He's not bad, and he is really hot
for me. I can feel it every time he looks at me. It makes me hot, too."
I said "I'm not gay, but the future of humanity is much more important
than my personal feelings, so I would do it, with a smile. The problem
is, he would want to keep it going, and might be motivated to make that
a requirement for continued help. I don't think we should risk that,
and I have a plan which might help with it." I told him, and he said
with admiration, "Wow! Those psychology courses sure paid off!" I said
"Thanks. I hope." And I hugged and kissed him.
Chad hugged and kissed me back. Much harder. With monster grabbing.
You know what happened after that. While we were resting after
squirting, I said "I don't have time for this. I should be working." He
said "We need to keep your emotions up, well, that too, for your well
being, and the well being of the team." I said "Good excuse as any." We
grinned our faces almost in half.
