I agreed with this until recently. Now I noticed that there is a new
developement. There seems to be a communication line from the thumpers to
the authorities to the servers. Thumpers find questionable material,
complain to authorities, and servers stop carrying said group. Then lurker
has to find a new server. This doesn't seem to happen in groups where posts
are "locked". Maybe the authorities can work it out but apparently the
thumpers can't. Teranews (not my main sever) and several others have
recently dropped groups.
