The Adventures of Stevie #93
These stories were told to me by friends and other people. Some of them
are true. Some of them are only partly true. Some of them should have
been true. LOL
My first post about Stevie ("Call me Stephen!") was when he was 12 and
in summer camp and was told by another camper. This was from a time
before computers would fit on a desk and when people communicated with
friends in other countries by actual letters sent through the postal
service. When children did this those friends were called "penpals".
Carlos is Stevie's penpal in Argentina and knows English. This is a
fictional contrivance to enable Stevie to tell us his stories because
he isn't here in person. I think.
All characters are fictitious, even if some of them might have names
that belong to some actual people, or act like people we know.
Stevie's school is for gifted children who don't fit in regular schools.
The stories may not be posted in chronological order.
Stevie is 12 in this story, in year 3 of his special school, after
Thanksgiving, and before the winter holiday break.
The Adventures of Stevie #93 "Team Meeting"
Dear Carlos,
I called father right after I got to school, and told him what I was
going to do. I could tell he wasn't happy about it, but he would
investigate the doctor. He would come to the school for a team meeting
in the afternoon. Then I called Shan, and told him. He said he would do
some research on the doctor. I said "Thank you. I have an idea. Do you
have any monks there who are good fighters, who can shield themselves
from energy stealing? He said "Yes. 2, but they can't shield themselves
for long. Would you like them to help you?" I said "Only if they want
to. If they do, please have them at my school for a team meeting this
afternoon, if possible." He agreed. Then the Chief called me at the
school and said David agreed to help. I asked him to send David to the
school after lunch for a team meeting.
I told Dr. Knot I was setting up a special project, and to expect
those visitors. He wanted to know about it. I said he could ask my
father after the team meeting is over. He wasn't happy about that, but
accepted it. Then I dragged Rod to my private room. I told him about
the team meeting I had set for the afternoon. He was to tell Chad and
Jan to come. He agreed. Then I said "Now that we have that out of the
way, there is something I want to ask you about." Then I grabbed his
monster, which surprised him. I liked that. I said "You had some fun
sleepovers with some of the Altar Boys, and you told them about our
sexy boy play. Tell me about it." And I gave his monster an extra
squeeze." He said with a grin, "I thought you would be interested! Yes
to everything. They would really like to meet you." I said "I would
like that too, and so would Dan, who would like that VERY much. Now I
have an important question. Are any of them gay?" He said "I don't know
about some of them, but 2 are." I said "Stuart?" He said "Yes." I said
"Great! Dan really likes him, and they are they same age. We HAVE to
get them together. Does Stuart's parents know?" He said "I don't know.
I can call and ask him tonight. I did notice him looking at Dan a lot.
I hope it works out for them." I said "I do too. Dan needs a gay
boyfriend really bad." Then I grabbed him in a big hug and kissed him
all over. He didn't mind it at all. Then we had to make each other
squirt, or our monsters wouldn't be tame for the rest of the morning.
We cleaned up and went to class.
We had the team meeting after lunch. My school team was there, with
the 2 monks Shan sent, who bowed low to me, who were in regular
clothes, Uniformed David, who I hugged when he came in, and father.
Father asked for Dr. Knot to be in the meeting. I said "If you really
think he should, but he should know I'm doing this and nobody is going
to stop me." So Dr. Knot was there too. I started by saying, "I'm
setting up a team for a mission. Some of you are in this meeting just
as observers, some for ideas and planning help, some for assistance
before and after the mission, and some for other things. I will be
going on this mission alone if I have to, but it would be good to have
help, but ONLY the help I ask for. Any other help could cause a
disaster, which could include my death, or worse." They all looked very
alert at that.
I explained about some of my psychic abilities, just enough to help
them understand what I would be doing and why, and about the doctor.
Then I explained what could happen if all went well, and what could
happen if things went bad. I said "Father and the Abbot will
investigate the doctor. David and the monks will provide area control
and rescue if needed. Rod's father will introduce me to the Doctor, and
will stand with David down the hall and help with his own authority as
a Doctor if needed. David is to knock him out, gently if possible, if
it looks like he is under the control of the Doctor. It's more than
just a faint possibility, because he touched the energy sucking globe
before, and he is close to me emotionally, and so the Doctor might want
to use him against me. It's for this reason, Rod, Chad, and Jan, that I
can't have you with me at the hospital while I'm fighting the Doctor.
If you come within his range of perception, and I don't know how far
that will extend, with your feelings for me, he WOULD try to take you
over and use you against me, and there isn't anything you could do
about it. Your job will be support after the fact. One of those
possibilities you might have to deal with, would be if I lose. It that
happens, you must kill him. I don't think one of you could do it alone,
but with all three of you, NOBODY stands a chance. The objective of
this mission is to neutralize this menace. I am the best equipped to do
this, in a way that makes for the best outcome. I don't want him dead,
if it can be helped, just unable to hurt other people anymore. There
are special reasons for that." The monks nodded. "I'm pretty sure I can
do that without killing him. If I can't, then I will try to kill him.
If it doesn't work, then I will be out of action, and I should be taken
to the Abbot, dead or alive, as soon as possible. If I do kill him,
causing his death with my special abilities could damage me severely. I
accept that possibility. Any questions?"
There were questions. I answered, "I don't know all of his powers,
and he doesn't know mine. My advantages are I'm trained to fight his
kind, and he probably isn't, and I don't look all that dangerous." The
kids gave me some looks, so I said with a grin, "Most of the time."
That got me a few smiles. "I don't know if he's a full telepath. I'm
not, but I know they exist, because I've met one. Just in case he is,
I'm not telling you everything I can do to him, and my plan of attack
for when I face him. Please don't think I don't trust you, because I
really do, it's just that I don't trust HIM, and what he can do." There
were more questions, and answers. Then I said "I will talk with you
individually when we need to, for information and more specific
instructions, after we get the results of the investigations. This
general team meeting is adjourned." We all stood. The monks bowed
deeply to me, and said they would report to the Abbot, and would be at
my service when I need them for any reason. Dr. Knot said he would look
at the results of the investigations and prepare a psychological
profile of the Doctor. I let him think that would be useful. I asked
the school team and David to stay for another meeting.
I said to the school team, after all of the others but David had
gone, "Meet Sergeant David Chang. He has seen me do some special
things, and helped very much with them, and in keeping me alive after.
He's a good man, and a good fighter, who knows Tommy and Sensei Ninja.
David, meet my very good friends and schoolmates, Jan, Rod, and Chad. I
trust all of you with my life and spirit." They all got together to
shake hands, but my team insisted on hugging David too. He didn't mind.
I said "David, congratulations on your promotion! If I know you, I'm
sure you deserve it, and more. I'm happy for you." He smiled and said
"Thank you. I owe some of that to you. You saved the girl, and the
Chief kept his job, and you didn't have to put a chopstick in his
brain. My little help in that, helped get my sterling qualities
noticed." I said "I'll bet!" The kids REALLY wanted to know what
happened. David raised an eyebrow at me. I said "With the Chief." He
told them. When he got to the part when the Chief hit Jeremy and
knocked him down, they said "NO!, He did that? To JEREMY? Oh my God!" I
said "Hold on! It wasn't that bad, but I didn't know it at the time.
It's okay now. He apologized after everything was over, and Jeremy
hugged him. You know what that means." They did. David didn't. I told
him, "You should ask Tommy about it, and you could get hugged by Jeremy
himself, who lives with Tommy while going to college. It's an
experience like nothing else in existence." The kids all nodded. David
looked intrigued, and finished his part of the story. Then I said "I
cracked the safe and got the girl out. She was dead, but only for a
short while. I gave her all my psychic energy, the stuff that doctor
steels from people, and she woke up, and I passed out from exhaustion.
David helped bring me back." Then they REALLY thanked David.
David had to go back to work. I asked him to brief the Chief about
what we were doing, but tell him to keep himself and the force out of
it, so the doctor won't be alerted. When I was alone with my school
team, I broke down and cried. They wanted to know what was wrong. I
said "I'm afraid. No, not that way. I'm afraid what hurting him is
going to do to me and my abilities. Everything has a price. Things must
balance. I'm afraid I will be changed into somebody I won't like, which
YOU, the people I love, can't love any more. That would be worse than
dying." They understood, and knew there wasn't anything they could do
or say about it which would help, except be with me until I became calm
with excepting my possible fate. Hugs and kisses did help. I told them
that.
Then I remembered to tell Jan something. "Jan, I've been meaning to
tell you something. I love Dean. He's a GOOD man. I love the way he
treated Davie at Dan's party. That was something very special." Rod
said "I feel the same way, and Davie adores him." Chad said "I saw
that. He was great." Jan said, with some extra moisture in her yes,
"Thank you. I'll tell him. He'll know, coming from all of YOU, how much
it really means." I said "Yes. He's family." Then Jan kissed us all,
over and over again. It took a while to get all her lipstick off our
faces. She helped.
