Crystal Player plays these XviD files as well, no problem.
The reason they won't join is that the sound stream parameters are
different: parts 1 and 2 are 24 kbps, 16 kHz streams while parts 3 and 4 are
256 kbps, 16 kHz. The solution is simple: open the file in VDub(Mod), set
video to Direct stream and re-compress the audio to whatever you like,
keeping the same settings for both chunks ('both' because you *can* append
part 2 to part 1, and part 4 to part 3). After that, they'll just append as
usual.
