AVIs will play anywhere providing you have it complete. Lots of people
complain that WMP wont play it, but then have to be told that with an avi
you must have EVERY FILE COMPLETE and joined. With even one file missing
it will not play not WMP. They will however play on divx (www.divx.com)
or vlc (www.videolan.com) (both free viewers) providing they have been
joined with the 000 or 001 files. Its no good joining all the files with
001 missing. The 000 file is not of paramount necessity, but is better as
it gives you size, number of files, and will indicate any files missing,
so you dont try to join with anything missing.Dial up is a curse as some
of my friends tell me, but unfortunately broadband is still in its
infancy in some places. The advantage of broadband must be seen to be
believed. I, and I am sure hundreds of other people can download 300+
files per hour using broadband. There are of course some people who stick
to dial up because broadband would mean a few pence extra to pay, but
worth every cent of it. I dont think your ping was a complaint, but a
legitimate question which is on the tongues of many people. If you can
get broadband then go for it. If not, then just download at your best
speed, stick the files on a disc until you have every file. When you have
it all then just transfer the files to a folder, MY DOCS is probably the
best, join and play. With dial-up the old adage "patience is a virtue" is
