Hi I4B,
It is a simple question of security. If only passworded files are in
one group, but the password is never listed there, then it is
difficult to tell the contents of a post. This keeps the troublemakers
at arms length. Sometimes posters have their posting privileges
removed because a troll, or some other form of idiot, makes a
complaint.
The measures being taken in the other group will allow the posts that
you enjoy so much to go on unabated for the forseeable future. Posters
rule, I4B and we should all be thankful for their unselfishness. The
benefit you gain from having access to posts heavily outweighs the
minor inconvenience you may experience in accessing the post.
