I used to be a big fan of Xnews.. after all it's free :-)
A couple of years ago I stumbled on Usenet Explorer --
http://www.netwu.com/ue/ it's not free, but not expensive either. There is a
free trial period.
It has a lot of advantages over a simple reader like Xnews but as far as I'm
concerned the BIG BIG.. did I say BIG :-) advantage is that it does searches
across all NGs. So if I am looking for a file or set of files I just enter it
in the search box and I get a listing of every posting that's on Usenet.. no
need to know which group or groups it was posted in. Combine that with NZB
files and Usenet becomes very easy to use.
UE also does all your posting for you so you can do away with stand-alone
posting programs.
