Since the mid-nineteenth century pianos and grand pianos have been built by a well-known
company located in Eastern Germany. Numerous technical innovations that were partly patented
went into the design of the unique instruments. Of course, the quality of these instruments was
quickly noticed by many well-known piano composers and pianists. And so, great artists like
Claude Debussy, Max Reger, Franz Liszt, Richard Wagner, Peter Tchaikovsky, Ferruccio
Busoni, Arthur Rubinstein and the unforgotten Wilhelm Kempff became customers. The KApro
"East German Grand" Library is dedicated to the sound of the grand pianos of this traditional
