Boogie Town is comprised of musicians who have logged many miles. When
we determined to create this album we brought our wit, experience, and
biggest hooks with us.
It was important to us that the record be a journey, full of different textures
and moods and never redundant. We want you to laugh, cry, and relate. But
most importantly, enjoy. Our favorite records alternate between funny and
deadly serious, light hearted and deeply moving. We wanted to give you that
here.
You'll find an all new vision of the blues mythos where the fearsome magic is
welded by a ladies hand, and ponder the heartache behind a garage sale.
We wrote about what we know. Like the way a drought is as devastating as
a flood, just cruelly slower. Or how real history should revere the "Soiled
Doves". (Yes, we really are from a town that sprung from bordellos.) But
then somewhere in the tracks you will find stories from your own life,
wherever you may hail from. A cry for redemption, the sorrow of missed
opportunities, the danger of cheating. You'll feel the heat of an addictive love
affair, and share the "cosmic vibration" of a couple who "loves weird things
they don't understand".
Like our buddy on the cover, the blues may seem like a holdover dinosaur, on
the verge of extinction.
But the blues is still here, and still cool..like our beloved Horney Toad with it's
ancient Resting Blues Face.
