Rudy Adrian returns with a plunge, into even more deep ambience with his mystical "Coastlines". Where the ocean is an ageless, living entity, unique and unto itself, held at bay by the land, beckoning the hapless, to partake of its mysteries. He explores these haunting shorelines, and the empty windswept beaches, while seabirds wheel-in-the-sun above, and about. The music cascades with vibrant depth, and a mysterious, shimmering tonality which slowly captivates the listener. You abide here, solo in the late afternoon, taking a metaphysical transit across the sand-scapes, with only your lonely thoughts as a guide. Quietly musing about past, and future events; interrupted by the screams of passing, curious gulls. This effort is one of Adrian's premier efforts, and I have to admit, that he towers alongside the other ambient titans: Thom Brennan, Max Corbacho, Meg Bowles, and Jon Jenkins. This beautiful CD cover art, shows the billowing waves of a tidal change, and the glimmering, reflection of the late-afternoon sun. Another nice entry from the Brain Laughter collective.
