The spirit of Memphis Minnie, Geeshie Wiley, and Charley Patton possesses this womans body who looks so pure yet has a dark cross road running straight through the center of her soul. On my obsessive quest searching high and low for rare John Fahey recordings. I found this album issued from the defunct Blue Goose Records, the sister label of Yazoo Records. Not only is this a real rarity, but it is a real gem. I can't stop listening to it. It has some of the finest Country Blues riffs and pickings I have heard in awhile. Jo Ann Kelly does an arrangement of Skip James, "Hard Time Killing Floor Blues". It will make you want to play the track over and over. Then Jo Ann Kelly and John Fahey do an arrangement of Charley Patton's , "High Sheriff Blues". I've heard many others before do renditions of Charley Patton songs and fell flat on their face. I swear between Jo Ann Kelly and John Fahey they did something special on that track that will leave you mesmerized. Enough said I have to go listen too it again. It's calling me.\
