I was able to score two free lawn tickets for the Foreigner/Cheap Trick show via Groupon last spring.
I gave my second ticket to fellow taper, Whotapes. He informed me that we could upgrade from the lawn to the seated area for a few dollars by going to the guest services booth of the Starplex.
We were sold seats in row S of Sec 102 for $10 each. This was a massive upgrade over being stuck in the lawn all night long! It was extremely humid, which in turn made the climate extremely uncomfortable for both the band and audience.
Unfortunately, Lou Gramm did not appear in Dallas. On the positive side, Mick Jones toughed it out and performed for the entire show!
The last time I caught Foreigner was when they were opening for Journey in Austin on September 22, 2011. This was ironic as I have always considered Foreigner to be Journey knock-off band.
In Austin back in 2011, Mick Jones didn't even bother to show up!
The Starplex was jammed packed. I was surprised because there were plenty of good seats still available via Ticketmaster, a few hours before showtime.
The 72 year old Mick Jones has quite the racket going on with his glorified cover band. I can't say I blame him. We all have bills to pay...
I was amazed to see a teenager who was at the show with his family, totally rocking out.
While watching this kid, I thought to myself: "If he gets this wound up over a cover band like Foreigner, I could only imagine how much he would enjoy a show by a band that featured its original lineup".
You may hear him on the right channel from time to time. After the end of the concert, I heard a dad in his 40's claim that Kelly Hansen "still had a really good voice, the original voice". I was dumbfounded by this comment....
Don't get me wrong, the band is compromised of world-class musicians. However, with the exception of Mick Jones, the modern incarnation of Foreigner had nothing to do with the classic albums of the 70's & 80's.
Foreigner's stage show was impressive. The lighting effects and dry ice fog recalled memories of arena rock shows of yester-year.
I will state that modern day Foreigner easily blows away the multiple Scabs N' Posers line-ups that Axl Rose ran with from 2001-2014.
There is some phasing during "Jukebox Hero". Hansen was on a platform near the back of the venue.
I turned around to take a look...
Students from the choir at Lake Worth high school were brought on stage during "I Want To Know What Love Is".
Cheap Trick and Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin were also taped...
While watching Foreigner, I came to the conclusion that I no longer enjoy taping concerts. I am considering giving up on this hobby, as taping is more trouble than it is worth.
Instead of standing still like a statue while everyone else is enjoying the concert, I should be living in the moment!

HELP: Does anyone else out there own the TP Link Archer C5400 Tri-Band MU-MIMO Wireless AC5400 Gigabit Router?
I am using it with a Windows 10 machine and am unable to properly open ports for torrenting. I use qBitorrent 3.3.13 as my client.
I have plenty of experience properly opening ports on routers in the past. However, I can't figure out how to properly open ports on the Archer C5400 Tri-Band MU-MIMO Wireless AC5400 Gigabit Router.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!!
