First, did not mean it to sound like a criticism of your post and I
apologise if taken that way. Was merely clarifying it for the person who
wondered why there was no center channel, as it was clear to me it was a
straight conversion.
Likewise, saying 'quad' may have also been an oversimplification as the
format was 5.0. However, the SACD appears to have been built using only 4
channels of information, not 5. Yes, technically that's not necessarily
'quad', but was a whole lot easier to say (and understand) than all this.
