In the days far gone by there used to be Charters for newsgroups that
were approved a group of self appointed leaders, who I sometimes
suspected were the cast offs from the Hitler Youth, that essentially
indicated what could and could not be posted into groups.  If you
contravened the charter the Usenet ISPs of the day would normally warn
the user and if the effort continued then users actually had their
access to Usenet suspended and even their  account canceled.

Now there are times I wonder if it wouldn't be easier to simply have
two binary groups:

Alt.Porn
Alt.Notporn

That said this groups stems from a number of groups that are long
since forgotten and to an extent is a victim of its own success.  If
we consider sleaze or sexploitation as primarily a function of the
1960-1970s grind house effort there is only so much product out there.
Granted a great deal of it is probably gone forever or lying on
16/35mm film reels, (hopefully in a chilled environment or the film is
slowly dying), but there are fewer and fewer new finds so I suppose
for the newsgroup to survive we have to consider broadening what was
the original idea of sleaze.

What that is I do not know.  I guess use your best judgment.
