I CAME HERE LOOKING FOR PINUP PICTURES, WHERE ARE THEY?
Most of us here are refugees from the natural breast newsgroups, who got
fed
up with the spam there and came to this formerly empty group. We're here
to
exchange pix of silicone-free, well-endowed women. If you are still
looking

WHAT KIND OF PICTURES CAN I POST HERE?
Those that celebrate the beauty of full natural breasts. Pix of
silicone-free, well-endowed women are on-topic, and most pix of
siliconed
women are not. We also enjoy classic pix from the 50's, 60's and 70's,
even
if some of the models in those shots, such as Candy Samples, Roxanne
Brewer and
Kitten Natividad, are "enhanced". If you don't know if a particular
model
has a "Vintage Exception" then ask the regulars before posting.
Please make sure your pics are not resized, recompressed, or otherwise
degraded. We like high-quality images. Also, please include
INDEXES with your pics, or vidcaps if you're posting movies. They're a
help
to everyone, whether on dial-up or broadband, and are much appreciated.
WHAT IS YOUR POLICY TOWARD SPAM?
WE HATE IT!! We consider alt.binaries.pinups to be a haven from the
spam
that is infests other newsgroups. We came here for the very
purpose of escaping it. Thus, any spam that does appear here is
considered
an encroachment on that haven, and will be dealt with by reporting the
spammer to his ISP and/or to his Usenet Provider. Many ISP's and Usenet
Providers have policies against their users spamming
newsgroups, and will deal with the user accordingly.
Know too that posting spam which displays web addresses for which a paid
membership is necessary is particularly against our rules and against
the rules and regulations of nearly every ISP and Usenet Provider. We
will report this type of spam to the spammers ISP, his Usenet Provider
(if he has one) and to various governmental agencies appropriate to the
spammer. Expect to be "disabled" of your Internet connections as a
result of posting this kind of spam in our group!
IS IT OK IF I CROSSPOST?
NO! For those not familiar with the term, crossposting is the act of
posting the same message or pic to several newsgroups simultaneously.
Crossposting to this group and others leaves a trail in cyberspace that
spammers can follow right to us. We have seen increases in spam shortly
after newbies have crossposted, so please post to this group only. If
you
want to post something to this and other groups, do so separately. We
would
all appreciate your consideration.
IS THERE A MAXIMUM LIMIT OF POSTS I CAN MAKE IN A DAY?
We ask that you limit your posts to no more than 100 pics or 40 megs of
movies a day. Some of us are still on dial-ups, and it is difficult, if
not
impossible, to download a huge volume of posts before they expire off
the
server, especially if we have other newsgroups we regularly surf. Also,
when a "flood" occurs, many servers delete other posts to make room for
the
flood. This means that people could miss pics that they would like to
see
and possibly add to their collections. Showing off your new high speed
DSL or Cable modem might be fun, but it can affect other people's
enjoyment of the group.
Another factor is spammers. They monitor the number of posts in
newsgroups
and target the groups that seem to be the busiest. If we start getting
a
huge number of posts, the spam will increase as well. So if you have a
lot
of pictures or large movies to share, spread them out over time. This
group
will be here for a while! (Alternatively, you can post them to another
group and post a pointer here)
CAN I ASK FOR A POST OF [model's name here]?
Yes. We suggest, though, that you post a few sample pics, since we may
know
her under a different name.
SOME OF THE PICTURES SHOW UP AS STRANGE-LOOKING TEXT. WHAT GIVES?
Most likely it's because they're encoded with yEnc, a relatively new
encoding scheme that is supplanting the traditional UUEncoding. All
binary
posts to newsgroups must be encoded into plain text because Usenet
cannot
carry binary posts. Newsreader programs do the decoding in the
background,
so you may not have noticed. The problem with UUEncoding is that it
inflates the file sizes by almost 40% (newsreader programs restore them
to
their original size when decoding them), taking up a lot of server
space,
which in turn reduces retention times. yEnc encoding increases the
filesize
only by 5% or less, which reduces the time it takes you to download
thepost.
As it becomes more widely used, yEnc will ease the demand for server
space.
If you're on AOL or using Outlook Express, you're behind the 8-ball
because
neither AOL nor Micro$oft seems to be aware of yEnc's existence, so they
haven't updated their newsreaders to decode it. OE users can solve
their
problem by dumping OE and using a real newsreader. Here are several:

Here are three options for AOLers:
1: Download the posts as text and use a separate decoder (like
www.yenc32.com) on them. 2: Start an account with a premium news
server
like one of these: www.easynews.com, www.giganews.com, www.newsguy.com,
www.usenetserver.com, www.teranews.com, or www.bubbanews.com, and use
your
AOL internet connection to access it using one of the newsreaders
mentioned
above. 3. Subscribe to a web-based news service like
www.usenetbinaries.com, www.newspaladin.com or www.visualnewsgroups.com.
This way you can use your web browser to see the pictures, which are
already
decoded for you (this solution will also work for WebTVers). Of course,
dropping AOL (or WebTV) in favor of a real ISP would be your best
solution.
IS IT OK TO POST COPYRIGHTED PICS?
We allow it but generally don't encourage it. You post these at your
own
risk; some pay sites are more zealous than others at harassing people
who
post their pics. Most of the pics posted here date back to years ago,
and
the copyrights on them have lapsed or just aren't enforced, so for the
most
part we've been able to avoid this issue. If you decide to post images
that
might be copyrighted, please post them only infrequently (several days
between posts is a good idea), and when you do, post only one incomplete
set
of lower-res pics. The pay sites have been pretty much ignoring posters
who
stay within those limits, so if you do the same you should be OK. If
you
decide to go beyond those limits, or post a movie, post it in another
group
and post a pointer here. This won't protect you, but at least it'll
keep
the lawyers from coming into this group and threatening everyone.
CAN I POST LINKS TO PAY SITES THAT HAVE NATURAL BREAST PIX?
Yes, but tread carefully here. A post with such a link can easily be
interpreted as spam, resulting in the poster being reported to his ISP.
If
you've found a good pay site you think we might be interested in, state
up
front that it's a pay site, and that you're not affiliated with the
site. It
would also help your credibility if you're a contributor to the group.
Strangers who barge in and trumpet a pay site will be regarded as
spammers.
CAN I POST PLAYBOY PICS/HARDCORE PICS/PLUMPER PICS/AMATEUR PICS?
Yes to all, if they're on-topic. If in doubt, post a sample pic or
index
and ask the group's opinion.
CAN I TELL PEOPLE IN OTHER GROUPS ABOUT THIS GROUP?
Please don't post pointers in other groups to this group. Pointers can
bring in some good people, but more often than not, they also bring in
flamers and spammers. Let's keep this group a secret from the
undesirables.
SOMEONE POSTED AN EXECUTABLE FILE. IS IT SAFE?
Unlikely. There are pranksters out there who have nothing better to do
than
post files that contain viruses and other stuff that will make your life
miserable if you download and run them. Often these postings have
too-good-to-be-true titles such as "Britney Spears Nude!!" Check the
attachment: if it has a SCR, PIF, or VBS extension, it's a virus. EXE
files can be dangerous too, but only if posted by someone you don't know
and
trust.

In more recent times, the Usenet has deteriorated into a complex of
spam. There are now concealed virus programs posted among the regular
posts. Attempts are made to lure you into purchasing internet
pornography in order to steal your credit card numbers. What may appear
to be an anti-virus program, free upon your download, could well be
simply a virus program for your computer. This is designed to make a
slave of your computer which, undetected by you, then becomes part of a
world wide spam making machine known as a botnet. Therefore, buyer
beware.
Before you enter Usenet as a participant, learn all you can about the
do's and don'ts of this world full of discussion, music, videos and
more. Once you learn to ignore the social freaks who try to ruin
Usenet; once you learn to side step the international criminals who try
to trap you, Usenet and newsgroups remain a nice place to visit.

In even more recent times, Usenet seems to be returning to it's more
kinder, gentler roots. The intensive spam originating in Russia and
other former Eastern Bloc nations has been driven out of business by a
consortium of U.S. agents with assistance from many worldwide government
and private entities. Once again, Usenet appears to be thriving,
keeping the older established newsgroups while adding thousands of new
ones. Here's hoping the future is full of more great posting.
