I agree with you MM. I find it mildly infuriating when someone asks for
a password that was given just a few messages before the post. I
haven't "often" spent an hour or so looking through old posts, but I
have done so a couple of times. While I struggle sometimes to find
where a password is posted, I have never asked for the password myself.
Sometimes retention isn't strong, though, or messages can be corrupted.
I use Giga and Astra as a backup, and even then messages referred to
don't show up in any search. Even when I load every message from a
group and scroll by date a few files are sporadically absent or
corrupted. In those cases, I've been known to delete the file. I'm not
entitled to the posts, as they are from the generosity of the poster. I
lost everything I had recently, so now I just appreciate them when I
get them.
