During 'Operation Blue' grenadiers can be seen entering a deserted
village. The grenadier at the end of the column has a MG-34
machine-gun slung over his left shoulder for ease of carriage. A
typical machine gun company had a company troop, three heavy machine
gun platoons, and a heavy mortar platoon
