A simple request from a simple comic book scanner: I don't care if you remove the text files from the comic books files I scan, and I don't care if you redistribute the comic book files I scan, but please, do not do both. If you think that there is a chance that you might share this files with others sometime then please don't remove the text file that ackowledges me as the original scanner. I put a lot of time into scanning these comics and I don't think it's too much to ask that I get credit for it.

For those interested in this kind of thing, here's how I scan:
I scan at 300 dpi rgb colors with a newspaper descreen on (85 lpi)
Once scanned, I clean up the picture, first with curves. I use curves to make the blacks black, the whites white and the inbetween tones bolder. Then I use the blur filter, reduce the image size to 150 dpi and then finally, I use unsharp mask at it's default setting to sharpen text and edges.
I learned from this site: http://comiclist.dnsalias.com/scanguide/guide.html which is really good, but you do have to learn what works for you and your scanner. Hope it's helpful.
