The IFC is just a cleanup of 002.jpg from an unlabeled apparently c2c
scan with a modification date of Jul 2013. I posted it 800+ days ago in
an Archie flood.
I did have one other coverless scan version with a modification date of
Nov 2015 from jodyanimator, but the internal folder/files had a
modification date of Sep 2010, so I assume this is the original scan
(albeit a repack).
The only difference from jodyanimator's archive was replacing the
highly pixelated replacement front cover, adding the ifc, and stripping
the tag image. All other pages including the ibc and back cover were
dupes. No info in the filenames in the unlabeled version as the images
are simply labeled 001.jpg through 084.jpg. The two new images have
modification dates of Nov 2010, so this one is a repack as well given
the 2013 archive mod date.
I'm assuming the front cover/ifc were torn off leaving the back/ibc in
place for jody's scan and that someone simply scanned the missing 2
pages and added them as I can find no relatively high resolution (1280
x 1850-ish) complete front cover image in any web search. It looks like
a legitimate scan of a slightly damaged cover.
They just didn't bother rescanning the other pages? Which would be
weird since jody's book had cutouts in 5 pages or so and markups on the
activity pages. You'd think they'd at least rescan those pages. So it's
c2c-ized with a cover scan from the net circa 2010 (auction site?)
that's no longer indexed? Where did the ifc come from then?
When you you said you "reconned" the ifc, I assumed you you
reconditioned (cleaned up) 002.jpg from the unlabeled archive, not
reconstructed from another comic's ifc— editing the indica text, etc.
TLDR: Was the original ifc in the unlabeled archive a reconstruction or
am I missing something? It looks legit to me and it doesn't look like
anyone was crazy enough to reconstruct an ifc back in 2010.
Is there a scan of this ad from a complete c2c 1961 Archie title that
uses "Dept. DH11"?

On a different note, are you referring to Photoshop's auto color? Are
there settings? It appears to be automatic in my version similar to
auto contrast and auto tone. Any results to share?
