Readme-file for "Les enfants de Rebelo"
Boys and girls,
Another project, second installment. A friend from a friend let me borrow some of his books. The photography in this book is from the French photographer Rebelo. I have seen his name spelled as Robello as well (???). I've been told these photos were taken in Portugal and the one looks as pretty as the next. The print in this book was rather grainy but thanks to some tips from Blueboy about using the blur-tool on grainy parts, I managed to get an overall pleasing result. I include the preface, which was translated thanks to several visitors of this newsgroup. I mixed them a bit together and thought it was funny how translations can be different from each other but still all agree on the message within. Thanks a lot!

A country beside the sea in the sunshine where the children are born naked and are able to remain that way. Robello lives on the sand and his house opens on all sides, to the children who pass by, to their games. His refrigerator is always stocked for them, his bathroom full with lotions for their pleasure.
They take off for adventures, as if society did not exist, nor their parents, no constraints contrary to their wandering nature of children who do not take themselves for young adults.
They love to have their pictures taken as they have not yet become accustomed to the notion that it may not truly represent who they are. They love it as a game, to see themselves and each other, and they love it a bit out of vanity or for the excitement that it brings us, because they know that it represents that part of a dream, of gentleness and nature that we do not wish to forget.
