Unfortunately you cannot use them with Agent 4.0. You need 4.2 or
later. (I use 6.0). In my version all you have to do is go
File/Import&Export/Import NZB and Agent will import all the headers
for you. You use similar menu to export the headers to an nzb file
either to send it to someone or to store it for future use. I usually
get my nzbs from http://www.binsearch.info/ which is free but not as
good as newzbin3 which was closed about 3 years ago after a legal
suit.
Grabit is a free newsreader which uses nzbs. There may be others.

The other major advance in the later versions of Agent is the ability
to sample "recent" headers by the number of days you require. Trying
to do that in version 4 was hopeless. I have been using Agent for
years and found it very useable but certainly not great. I found
others I tried to hard to understand after Agent.
