I think you'll find a lot of these newer rips are in MKV format, which can be
large but not outragously so. They also frequently have the subtitle tracks
within the file, which I find advantageous, but most importantly, the quality is
pretty darned good. Most of the stuff I have posted over the last 2 years is
simply new encodes from DVD to increase the quality. There are some cases where
I was frustrated at the mediocre quality of the original (Twee springs to mind)
but we do what we can.
