I have had another fiddle with extracting the subs. I first made a mkv
rip with hardcoded French subs to help me correcting the subs. I found
though that the idx/vobsubs subs I was able to extract (and which will
not extract readily or convert into a sup file to temporarily add to a
dvd to rip normally) work perfectly well with GOM and VLC (I have a
all white avi or dvd for this purpose).
What this means is that I am going through the subs I posted to you
line by line correcting them. Most of the errors however (I am about
half way) are incorrect accents. There are a few other things such Cui
instead of Oui. I am not sure it will be much help to you but I will
send it to you when I have finished anyway. I noticed the some of the
slang you were talking about. It reminded me a bit of Quebec French
you have been translating.
I am very patient waiting for subs. Two classic examples were Un
chateaux en Espagne and La belle ete 1914 both of which I had for
years before I got subs.
