Hang in there, we all went through a learning curve when we started.  At
least you're trying.  There is always someone that is going to bitch about
something that you do but they're usually someone who never contributes
anything and aren't worth paying any attention to.  Feel free to ask for
help if you start to get frustrated, there are lots of people that are
willing to help if you just ask

A few initial suggestions are:

 - Use the smallest format you are comfortable with if you are editing or
converting movies yourself.  The formats, from smallest to largest, are;
FLV, WMV, AVI, MPeG and MP4.

 - Break the movies into 30-40meg chunks with MasterSplitter or RAR,
whichever format you prefer.

 - Use either "Thumbnail Me" or "AMT Automatic Movie Thumbnailer" to create
thumbnail previews.  They both take a little customization to set up
initially but are both freebies.

 - Find the info about the maximum chunk size your ISP allows on their web
site and set whatever posting program you are using to a size value a few
dozen KB below that.

Hope that helps........
