Smegma is one of the most-maligned substances in the U.S.
I think it is hilarious that one of it's main functions, aside from being a
lubricant for skin over skin motion is an aphrodisiac. Yes, that pungent smell
(from a woman's vagina, but especially from smegma) is actually supposed to turn
us on.
Basic biology - look it up.......
It also acts as a protective bacterial barrier (good bacteria) to ward off
infections.
An ironic thing is that it performs the same function in men. And Jewish custom
has folks taking the foreskin off so smegma can't form.
