Yes, I use a similar technique - but using an XL database which also
allows for easy sorting - currently my media directory occupies about
9TB of a RAID array on an NAS server that is fed by a UPS. I have
spent a lot of time organising this and I do not wan't a sudden power
outage to give me problems with losses and corrupt files.

I know and I applaud your dedication. It is a pity that some
downloaders may be having trouble that is not that easy to overcome if
they are using Agent 8 - see later.

I have only requested a minor change if it convenient to do so. I
understand why you prefer not to. But might I make a suggestion? Do
not work on the original you have created make a copy and use this for
generating your post - then the alteration is simply a highlight, copy
(if you want to include this information in the .nfo or a.txt file)
and delete the file name part after the date, no counting, no
alteration to your original and no replacement of what you have
removed. Actually this is good practise as it avoids any corruption of
the original that might result from things like power outages.It is
even better if it is done in a directory that is located on an HDD
that does not contain you media library.
I tend to look for Title, date, video format and codec, Audio format
and codec plus source information as this data quickly determines if I
am going to bother looking for more detailed information about the
film (Actors, Directors, genre, plot, etc) with a web search.

Agent 8 is very useful because of its automatic decoding capability,
it saves a lot of assembly work that was previously necessary. This
facility has, however, created a "glitch" problem for file name types
like the ones you prefer.
You might care to know that an alteration tho a much shorter parth
length (such as C:\ would not have solved the problem for files that
are more than about 120 characters (Navarone was about 132). That
requires diving into the folder properties dialogue and making some
changes to the default conditions that are not very straightforward.

Please do not do this purely on my account (I am happy to use a
work-around for anything I really want that you post), but be aware
that if you do you may reach a greater number of downloaders.
