Our beloved governor Cuomo jr sued Time Warner in 2008 for supplying
kiddie porn and got them to shut off supplying usenet. I do not think
it was a hard sell to TW and would not be surprised to find out they
instigated the suite. TW's servers sucked and they were facing the
cost of an upgrade.

what's mildly interesting is that the TW server around here is still
