Encoding errors seem to be endemic on usenet at the moment.* I am not
sure what the variable is. Posts by posters whose posts have been find
for years suddenly have encoding errors. Pehaps it is a bad connection
somewhere along the chain from some providers.
*Some posts in alt.binaries.e-book,alt.binaries.ebooks,
alt.binaries.e-book.flood and alt.binaries.e-books have encoding
errors. That had been extremely rare unless the post is extremely old.
BlueDenim posts have been corrupted and they were fine before. On the
other hand extensive posts by Psychopath are fine. A book or two may
be missing which is frequent (perhaps sorting problems by Giganews or
Agent) but the PARs replace it/them, and all the files that do exist
are fine. Shrug. Now that I think of it, Pschopath did have a set of
bad posts a while back, but the posted replacements (early December
2016) were fine. Maybe that one set went through the weak link on that
occasion.
