I wasn't a follower of Bourdain, and had only vaguely recognized the
name when I first read of his death. Regardless, it's always a tragedy
when someone takes their own life. It can be understandable when
someone has a terminal or ultimately debilitating health condition,
such as the situation with actor Robin Williams; but barring that,
it's difficult to understand why someone who was apparently as
intelligent, resourceful and can-do as Bourdain would choose to end
their lives. We may or may not come to learn what might've been going
on in his life, but regardless, it's a real tragedy.
