The well-known Christmas Midnight Mass by Charpentier, as performed by the
Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal, has been a feature for many years at St
Joseph's Oratory in Montreal.
It is even sung twice, both at 9:00 PM. and at Midnight (two different
groups!).
There have been a few telecasts over the years, but those who would like a
peek at last week's performance, can see it on Youtube.
The father of two present day choristers has a site with many videos of the
choir.
While I'm no computer expert, I think I could manage to find a link for
those who can't find it on their own!
Additional note.I'm not sure about the details but it seems that the
majestic organ, back of the basilica, is undergoing repairs. There is a
small organ , near the choir, in the front of the basilica, behind the
altar that is in some mysterious way electronically connected to the main
organ, so that when you're in the church, you see the organist in front and
hear the organ in the back. Sorry, no further technical notes can be
expected from me....
