Original Title "Sin's Pay Day"
Attorney James Markey has grown rich defending mob kingpin Louis Joe and his
minions. Markey's wife, Iris, however, is disgusted by the source of their
lavish lifestyle and walks out on him when he refuses to quit.
Markey goes into an alcoholic tailspin and winds up penniless, living on the
mean streets of the Lower East Side. He meets a young street urchin, Chubby
Dennis, who teaches him how to survive life in the slums. Their new friend-
ship gives James a reason to go on living.
When the pair are caught in the middle of a gangland battle, little Chubby is
struck and killed in a hail of bullets. Saddened and enraged, James Markey
vows to get his life back in order and offers himself to the D.A., determined
to devote his future to bringing the killers to justice...

Predictable plot in this little pre-code film.
This was one of the first of many, many films that featured Mickey Rooney,
but far from his first exposure in front of the camera. By 1932 the 12-year-
old lad had already made two movies and starred in nearly fifty "Mickey
McGuire" shorts.
NOTE: Mickey is only onscreen for about 14 minutes, and doesn't appear until
the 26:33 point...
