Set against the backdrop of the final days of the Civil War comes an advent-
ure of true grit. 11-year-old Jamie McIver's been the man of the house since
his father left to fight in the Confederate Army. While his dad's been away,
Jamie and his family have fought starvation, wild animals and Poss
Timmerlake, an Army deserter who's trying to steal their land.
Just when things couldn't get worse, Poss and his cutthroat band of outlaws
