I've been a happy Giganews Diamond customer for may years, but, like many others, I have found their claims for retention aren't supported by reality.
I was finding that pretty much anything I tried to download that was over say 1200 days old, even if Newsbin Pro reported "All Posts Available" was not downloadable. This has now reduced to pretty much anything much over 600 days old.
I contacted Giganews & they asked me to provide them with some .nzb files of examples, so they could see if it was due to a DMCA take down order, or there was an actual problem. I did as they asked, and this is the bullshit reply I just got back from them...
>We have checked the files provided in your reply and while none have been taken down due to DMCA issues, the article(s) in question cannot be downloaded from our servers.
>This could be due to a number of factors, including how the content was posted. If it was not posted completely or was corrupted on the poster’s end during the posting process, that can cause the download to fail.
>
>The only recommendation we can offer at this time is to find another post of the same content, if it exists, and try downloading those files.
>
>Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

So, any files that can't be downloaded from Giganews, even if they can be downloaded from another provider, were uploaded wrong. What arroganr BS!
