The stakes are too high to learn-as-you-go.
Unless you are as certain as you can be that your posts cannot ever be
traced back to you, you should take a break from posting, create a new
nickname, and start over when you find your bearings for certain.
My opinion is that hte posters who are most knowledgable should take
new would-be posters under their wing as soon as possible, and provide
them with the latest safety information.
I know this may frighten you to hear, but I have been told my many
trusted sources that any and all messages posted on usenet, back to the
late 1990s, have been archived by private and government agencies.
They are apparently working backward in time, finding posts made by
people who were 100% sur they were untraceable back then, but are now
as visible as a sore thumb.
This leads to the question of how long it will take to crack the codes
of those posting now in groups with tightly encrypted files. In 10
years, it may be as easy as dragging and dropping files into a vurtual
folder and clicking a "decode" button.
