There have always been a few posters who have posted great things over a
long period of time with absolutely no fuss, without locking people out
hopelessly, without sending them crazy, without risking their own or their
viewers' security, without anyone becoming victims of lea. On the other
hand, there are posters who twist everything up in knots, turn the groups
into places of confusion, pain and unhappiness, give people nervous
breakdowns, destroy all hope, destroy all trust, make the groups unworkable,
draw the attention of trolls and lea to the groups by causing the appearance
in the groups of endless pleas for passwords and keyfiles and sometimes
posts which by way of revenge threaten security and make people risk
security suicide, tease, tease, tease, endlessly tease people like a cat
with a mouse in its claws - most often for old stuff of poor quality and
taste many times reposted already. The first kind of poster wants others to
share what they value and enjoy, the second type of poster is mainly
interested in creating seeming honeypots which in turn lead them to and get
them access to other honeypots, it's selfish. We shouldn't forget that most
posters have got their material from others because they badly need it
themselves, and they are just as keen to get new stuff as any desperate
begging lurker! In the past couple of days we have seen this disease flare
up again in this group - private posts that are probably worthless, promises
of stuff to come, again probably worthless, and if it does come and if it is
good, this second kind of destructive poster will again create all the
terrible turmoil and negativity I have described. That is unnecessary. With
care, without much expense and without much difficulty, both posters and
viewers can operate without risk and these groups can fulfill a positive
purpose. The moment things turn controlling, manipulative, powerplay and
inaccessible is the moment those guys should be abandonned to their own
hell.
