There is another quote from Forrest Gump that I think is far more
apropos: Stupid is as stupid does.

I'm all for helping newbies out, but not at the expense of any active
poster's sense of security. Back when some posters started using TC
and keyfiles, I missed out on some things until I took the time to
READ the text posts and follow the trails hither and yon. I then
realized that my news service sucked the big one, so I changed to my
current news service and am actually saving money and getting far
better service. Yes, I had some help along the way, but that did not
preclude me from work at it and learn some new things, rather than
expect everything to be simply handed to me.

I watched the exchange of posts requesting help and the hints and
instructions offered and saw that there was certainly enough there to
lead any reasonably intelligent person down the right path to success.
But instead of making enough effort to figure things out, the squeaky
wheel continued to squeal until dear ol' Bob came along and threw a
monkey wrench into the works.

And to Bob - I realize that down deep you had the best of intentions
and were simply trying to be helpful. But as I also know you're well
aware of now, you went about it in all the wrong way. Unless I'm way
off base here, I would expect that you'll never do anything like this
again.

Back into the woodwork I go...

"This is *reality* Greg."
