Just an FYI, Mame's official build tools have gone from GCC 7 to GCC 8.
There's a new download in the developer's section.
I noticed no difficulties compiling mameui with the new tools. I didn't
use the 7z package though; I just used pacman to update them from within
Msys.
For the last several builds, on my system, both new and old gcc has been
spitting out warning messages about deprecated methods in the base Mame
code, but it's not a fatal error. The program still compiles.
When I get my files together, I'll try and post that fix you need.
