How to find a missing CHD? Easynews - www.easynews. ..
nobody (nobody@nowhere.com) 2018/08/04 18:34

clrmame is reporting that I've got everything up to date for v0.200 except one mising chd...  cubeqst.chd
It's reporting
Cube Quest (01/04/84) [folder: cubeqst - size: 151kb]
required chd version mismatch: cubeqst.chd [found version: 4] [required version: 5]
Ok, fine.  That part I understand.  I've got an older version of the chd file and need the latest.
I also understand that while all the current roms for v 0.200 have been post (and I gotta say I'm quite impressed by that.  Nice job guys), not all the CHDs are being reposted.  I can understand why.  It's simply too large.
I'm also the kind of guy who likes to learn how to do things  rather than asking someone else to do it for me.  That way I learn and know how in the future.
Finding the latest ROM file is farily easy with a usenet search, but I'm having less luck finding the last CHD files.
I have no idea what version of mame my "version 4" copy of this chd came from, so I have no idea where to begin looking in the various releases of CHD update sets.  Most of the CHD upgrade sets tend not to list the files inside the set (at least not that I could see).
I did a google search for  cubeqst.chd, but I can't find any web page that lists when a particular CHD file was last updated or which CHD files are in which update set.
So, my question is...if I need to find the update set that contains the lastest version of a particular CHD file, how do I do that?
