Im running Win10 on an Alienware computer (3.7ghz, 4 gigs memory,
quad core) that I picked up about 6 weeks ago. Runs great!! on Win10
and I rather like it. The wife is running Win 10 on her quad core,
after an Win7 update. She really likes it. Both have been flawless
in execution and have encountered ZERO problems. We both waited 3
weeks after release before installing Win10. Its fast, executes well
and is easy to use.
My daily computer..this one...will stay Win7, as its a bit slow and
underpowered for it. I have several other application specific boxes
that will continue to run XP Pro for the foreseeable future.
That being said...Win10 has its own malware/spam built into it...and
there are many things to turn off unless you like living in a glass
house. But..they are turn-offable. I would think he simply needs to
see the Book so he can turn stuff off. Whatever that "Book" may be.
The Web is a good place to start however
