MaMi71_TP-JH - note.txt

TP: "Is this the play? I don't believe it."
KE: "I don't either. I think it's some kind of trick. Come on, we're leaving."

PS: "Oh, man, you can't leave. I mean you're doing the next act. I mean we can't do it forever."

KE: "Look, do you want money? Is that it? Well, I've got plenty of money with me. I can give you money."

CS: "Silly, this is your past. You can't spend money on your past. Why, you'd be overdrawn."
PS: "Yeah, man."

CS: "Now let's see. After you were raped (and, by the way, discovered you liked it), your next big romance was with your first husband. He liked things a little rough, didn't he?"
TP: "My husband is dead. Besides, I want to leave right now."

But instead, Scharf grabs Erickson, Holmes leaps into the frame, unfurls his cape in front of Prado, drags her onto the stage, and unzips her dress. Zip and she's naked. So much for dressing up to go to the theater.

What happens next is what you think is gonna happen except that Holmes only pretends to fuck? rape? Prado, and not very convincingly. She doesn't seem to care one way or the other. Neither does the editor, who cuts away to ...science... for no apparent reason. Cue telescope.

Heh. But this Trish Prado scene was originally shot HC and appears in "Around the World with John 'The Wadd' Holmes" (c1975, but c1982 VCX in the DVD re-release) as such.

That's some funny shit! After Hours Cinema (or whatever the hell they're calling themselves this week) continues to scam its customers. It was either that or pay VCX for the original, I suppose.

And you can see at the beginning that the Scharf/Summers scene was also shot HC. So what we have in the AHC re-release is one of the SC edits of the HC original, which gives us a relatively rare example of exactly how these things were cut multiple ways for different zipcodes.

A bonus: the live audio in the SC version of the 1971 original vs the ridiculous myth-making Wadd overdub by Holmes and "Lady Cynthia" in the HC print used for ATWWJTWH in 1975.
