Anyone know what's up with Shaun Costello?
I know he was having some health problems and I know through some
back and forth with Robin on facebook he's been down in the dumps but he
made a very fatalistic blog post and he then followed it up, thankfully,
with a more positive one here. He never accepted my Facebook request so
I can't really contact him but here's hoping he's doing alright.

That's really sad. Obviously I don't know the guy but he needs some
help and a lot a support it seems. Whats happeningto all these cool
people? Shaun Costello is a legend and hopefully a living one.

Its kinda sad that a guy makes all these films under some bizarre
circumstances in his earlier years (mafia involvement yes?) and even
though finally achieves recognition, after years in the shadows and then
doesn't gain anything other than people like me calling him a legend.
Its like working all your life for nothing in retirement. Does he not
get anything at all from these companies who distribute his films?

When Distribpix released the restored PASSIONS OF CAROL DVD, a
monetary deal was worked out. Unfortunately, the disc hasn't done
terribly well.
There's been talk about doing more projects with Shaun in the near
future.

That's a crying shame. It's a superb release of a terrific film. I
hope life begins to weigh on him less heavily than it does now.

Yeah, I've been really worried about him. He's had one of the worst
months of his life. Let's hope he's on the upswing.
If you guys really want to help him out, ordering his $10 online
book about Harry Reems is money right into his pocket.

Its a great film. Unfortunately even though its an adult classic it
still very much is a xmas film. Like how many Its a wonderful life or
Santa Claus the movie get sold during the year? None. Its only in
November/December when people start buying gifts and feeling xmasy.
